Best stealth game I've ever played. Love the slick and stealthy kills as much as the over-the-top and goofy assassination options, love that you can make it as easy as you want, love the huge amount of depth and variable approaches available in every level. Huge replayability within just the main story missions, to say nothing of the escalation missions and Freelancer mode. Pro-tip: keep alt-F4 handy in Freelancer just in case, so that it doesn't become super frustrating and lose the distilled essence of FUN that the main story has.

Skyrim is honestly my favorite game I have ever played, and it would be my favorite piece of media (games, TV shows, internet videos, movies, books, etc.) ever if Captain Rex and Star Wars: The Clone Wars didn't exist. The 1,271.6 hours (as of writing) that I have played of SSE is misleading, as that was what I played within a year of getting my first gaming PC. I have probably played over 3,000 hours of this masterpiece, and I have enjoyed every single pixel of every single frame of every single second that I've played. The base game on its own is the highest quality member of the Elder Scrolls series, which is my favorite fictional universe short of Star Wars and I got well over 1500 hours of pure bliss from that base game alone. If that were where the game's pluses ended, it would still be my favorite ever. However, it's not. The modding community for Skyrim is indescribably talented, and the fact that Bethesda made it so easy to mod opened the doors for hundreds to thousands more hours of quality gameplay. The only times I EVER felt bored playing this game were when I had finished all the quests after a 100 hour play through and was just wandering around with no goal, but as soon as I started a new character I was back in with just as much giddy excitement as when I started playing my very first character. To say some more concrete things, the art style and environment are stunning and really transport me to the magical other world of the Elder Scrolls. The NPCs have always felt like real people to me, to where I'm genuinely curious about their lives and am afraid of saying something in dialogue that will make them sad. The freedom of choice afforded to the player in how they go through the game is vast and nearly limitless in my experience, and you can easily play the game as long as I have and never do the same play through twice. I really can't say enough how much I love Skyrim, and how much of an endlessly positive presence it has been in my life. If I could give this game one thumbs up for every cell in my body I would, but I'll settle for the one that the Steam review system allows me. Bottom line: Skyrim is my favorite game ever. Of all time. If you like RPGs or open world games of any kind, I think it's well worth giving Skyrim a shot.
