It's a very good game, review bombing because of EA patching is stupid.

I love it. Played the demo for almost 14 hours, the full release feels better balanced and has more content, what's not to love?

I see that people leave negative reviews because the game currently doesn't have a save feature. While I do understand the negativity, and it is a valid criticism, it feels like a silly reason to leave a negative review when the game is great apart from that one feature. And I'm sure the devs are working hard to implement it as soon as possible.

It's a great and fun game, like the demo was. It feels like there's more strategic depth now, with more kings in the game, but it also feels like the scale is off the charts now when it comes to difficulty. Not every run is winnable with strategy alone, on every difficulty. Endless mode is also way harder than in the demo.

This review was written after the release of Patch #07 - EA.

While I struggle to give this DLC a negative recommendation, I think that if you are here you are a fan already, and more Golden Idol is always good.

However, I found that the DLC is by far the weakest entry in this series. While Roy Samson is great, and the story was OK, the gameplay was not the greatest overall. I will say that I thought the ultimate case was close to excellent, and great fun with a good flow.

So to summarize, I think all fans will always appreciate more Golden Idol, but this DLC in particular didn't quite hit the mark.

It's very fun and very addicting already. I thought the difficulty levels were fairly balanced, and I understand that there will be more difficulty levels.

My only complaint is that endless mode seems too unbalanced at the moment, the ramp up seems exponential, while it should be linear. Especially when you are forced to use/sell all your cards before the boss. And while I understand that endless mode isn't meant to be an easy infinite mode, it would be nice to have the possibility to play for longer.

Apart from horrible RNG and Pheons being connected to almost everything gear related, the game was pretty good. I did mostly enjoy my time for the 800 hours I played.

Unfortunately the western release has been a major ♥♥♥♥ up from day 1, and judging from the latest debacle, the worst is yet to come.

Will probably never play an Amazon game again.

I came back, and with the newest update and communication from AGS, the game is quite possibly in the best state it has been in ever. I'm changing my review from negative to positive.
