The design is interesting, the story is serviceable. Although demo just dumps you in the action with no explanation I think it's just a demo thing. One issue I have with the game is fights. They're boring and unengaging to the point where you're killing everyone just by spamming attack and occasionally pressing counterattack with a very generous timing. This can be narrative-focused game, but if you've added combat make it fun. Overall I still think this game is interesting enough, but I really hope the combat issues get addressed.

Note: this game is still not very well optimized. It's much better than it was on launch, but still not perfect. So if your PC is not that good and/or you want to have high fps, consider that a warning that you might not have a good experience. That being said I was able to complete this game on Steam Deck with Cryoutils optimization and May the performance be with you mods applied, and even with all those hoops to go through there are parts of the game where FPS drops to 10-15 (mainly, Forest Array) with a dozen of crashes through my playthrough overall.

The game itself is a perfect sequel to Fallen Order, so if you liked the first game you'll enjoy this Jedi Survivor for sure. All Fallen order systems have been expanded, a lot of new systems were introduced: you have more lightsaber stances, broader moveset, more customization options, more character progression options, etc. You also have some new smaller systems like Gardening and Holotactics. The story is also pretty good in my opinion, and I'm looking forward to third game to see resolution of this saga. There is also NG+ mode, which I haven't really dived in that much, but it improves replayability for sure just based on the nature of NG+ specific perks. I've completed most of the game on the highest difficulty, and it was a mostly fun, however it's easy to overlevel, which significantly trivialized the game even on the highest difficulty (and of course you can just avoid overleveling, if that's a big issue for you). But I have to say that certain subset of in-game activities - mainly a couple of force tears - are absurdly difficult which made them not fun at all.

That being said there are a couple of issues even 1 year after the release. Some achievements are buggy, some optional quests can be blocked by story, so if you want to 100% the game, you need to look this up beforehand to not screw yourself. I've already mentioned optimization. None of the issues are gamebreaking though, so if you're a fan of the series and SW in general it's a 8-9/10 game, but even on its own it's a solid 7/10 game - not a contender to be the best soulslike game, but still a fun one.
