I 100%'d the achievements for this game pre-Regal.

I don't 100% anything.

Just play it.

There seems to be a trend for experience based games cropping up over time, like Dyad or in this case 140. In all cases, the price is a little high - not because the game is not worth that much, but because experience-based games tend to be overshadowed by sweeping soundtracks and beautifully rendered RPG games, or FPSes which have been with us as a gaming community since the early days alongside RTSes.

I might not have bought this for five dollars - heck, I didn't even know this game existed. However, the Weekly Humble Bundle this week was an excellent time to learn it existed and to plop it into my library. I might be biased - I produce music of all sorts for fun, and I've always had my eye on music-based games. I also know when to say no to a game, and this was not that time.

140 is not a normal music-based game. At least, when Normal for music-based games is Audiosurf or Beat Hazard or DDR. 140 turns everything upside down to create a very simplified gaming experience that lends itself to actually experiencing the game. In the end, a short set of gameplay sessions is what this game is meant to provide, as are most game-like experiences, though I do wish there were more levels.

So after all that, is it worth five bucks? Ask yourself this - are you looking for a normal game, or a game-like experience?

Dare I say it? Better than the original game. All the innovation of Sanctum without FPS action to get in the way. Pure and delightful strategy with plenty of achievements and difficulty to keep you going for hours. Did I mention survival mode? I think I just did.

Bullet hell shooter with a 3-Dimensional twist! Beautiful in its design and even faster now with the Remastered cutscene mode. For as inexpensive as it is, and especially during steam sales, it's well worth a play.
