My all time favorite fighting game. SG has had a tremendous life, and despite challenges the team supports the game and its community well. One such positive change is the recent removal of Nazi imagery, racial stereotypes, and assets/scenes that promote underage or non-consensual sexuality. The game benefits from these changes, and the community benefits if those clinging to these harmful elements are no longer involved 👍

One of the best couch multiplayer games I've ever played. My friends and I love this game. Co-op is hard but rewarding, and the versus is always a hit.

Beautiful visuals, great characters, complex but rewarding mechanics. One of my favorite fighting games. Would love for Revelator to be on Steam.

Absolutely gorgeous art direction, sound design, and music. The gameplay is challenging but rewarding. Perhaps my favorite thing about the game is how the worldbuilding and storytelling is presented so stylistically and abstractly. I really don't want to be that guy, but I do feel like the gameplay would be much snappier at 60fps. I play fighting games competitively, and since I approach the combat in a similar way, there are times that HLD feels chunkier as a result.

Had to stop myself from investing my life into this game. It's excellent. Stardew Valley is charming and brilliantly designed.

As much as I hate the "reboot" mentality, especially when it comes to simply titling this game "DOOM", they did an amazing job on this game. I don't play many shooters, but this is everything I want in one. It's fast-paced action, great feeling weapons, and no mechanics to weigh those things down. No reloading, no crappy flashing red screen where you can go suck your thumb for a second to feel all better. It's got double jumps and lots of gibbing and demon killing. People seemed most worried about the "glory kill" mechanic, but I think it feels great in context. You only use it when you need the benefits from it, and the animation doesn't detract from the action. It's just great. As long as you like fun games and can put your serious-faced, false sense of realism, gray and brown, chest-high wall shooters back to hell where they belong, you'll love this.

This game will inevitably draw comparisons to Bastion, which is unfortunate because it is quite different. I liked Bastion, but was not interested by the combat. The tactical combat in this game, between building and modifying your abilities, then planning out battles in both real-time and through the other systems, feels excellent in this game. It's well balanced and quite fun. I enjoyed the narrative and was able to follow the story quite well through the worldbuilding and narration. Perhaps not quite as clear cut as Bastion, but still very well done. In the end, I finished this game and was quite satisfied. I never completed Bastion, despite the great things about it, because I just lost interest.

Smart, funny, unique, and replayable to a very high degree. This is seriously one of my favorite games. It takes after a lot of Portal qualities, albeit without many mechanical aspects, but does so brilliantly. Great narration and extremely clever writing.

There is some great fun to be had in this game. The Nemesis System really lived up to its hype. In the end, it's similar to the Assassin's Creed model of open-world games with repetitve sidequests, climbing things to reveal the map, and sneaking around/killing a lot of dudes. The combat is way better than AC though, coming across more like the Arkham games, and your character's abilities are quite fun. The narrative is just silly, but it's so much silly good fun, that I will probably play through this several times.

I played this game quite unconventionally. My girlfriend drove on the controller, and about 8 others crowded around a webcam and some microphones while we streamed our experience. It's atypical for a narrative driven thing like this, but we had a blast making dialogue choices together, unfolding the story, and roleplaying Henry as a neat-freak who had to gather books from all across the map to organize on his bookshelf. It engaged friends of mine who had no previous interest in narrative driven or indie games to the point that they stuck around until 3 in the morning to see what happens. Many people are dissatisfied by the ending. The game plays out like a great mystery novel, and something just feels off when you... you know... uncover the mystery. I don't think it detracts from the experience. There's still an amazing narrative, great voice acting, and gorgeous visuals here. It's excellent overall, and well worth the playthrough even if you're not thrilled with the ending.
