ahhh i really like princess farmer. this game is very, very cute and the nature of the puzzles is fairly fresh and crunchy for my experience in match-3s. rounds don't take too long, and the palette and charming art are a real treat for the eyes. our protagonist is cute, and always having the option to be completely at a loss is cute. the game makes me smile even if I've had a bad day. maybe it will make you smile too.

okay, look. listen. smell what I'm saying: i can tell even with the limited playtime i have as of this review that demonschool has the UTMOST juice. if you're a trpg sicko like me, or if you really like combat puzzles in general, feast on this game like a delightful gourmet spread.

gameplay feats: combining movement with action and providing all the information you need on enemies and allies as part of the same screen is the kind of brilliant design i love to see in this genre. managing action points through sidestepping and leveraging action-refunding or discounted attacks is the kind of optimization candy that makes an already great system even tastier, and being able to rewind and reset during planning lets you explore a strat before committing. it's good. you can feel like a genius even if it takes you five or ten tries to lock in your turn.

the expressive, energetic, stark art and... manic singleminded protagonist energy faye has are really fun, gameplay aside. this game is a delight for the senses and the mind so far and i am given no reason to question its persistence in both.

if you'll excuse me i am going to go kick some demons all over campus now, thanks love you bye

I should've played this game when I got my key. It's delightful, a fun and fresh narrative JRPG with gorgeous spritework, great music, and a compelling story that begins with strictly personal stakes and quickly expands far beyond that. Very fun, very funny, and yet also delivers strong emotionally impactful narratives.

SIGNALIS is an outstanding title in terms of mood and content within an already-mature genre, developed using a fairly oldschool approach in terms of design with an unparalleled sense of style and a complex, compelling narrative. If you enjoyed Silent Hill and the original runs of Resident Evil, SIGNALIS is probably for you. If you enjoyed SIGNALIS and haven't played those titles, they are probably for you. If you haven't played any of those but enjoyed BLAME! or BIOMEGA or really thought you'd fare better than the crew of the Event Horizon, SIGNALIS is probably for you.

Also the score is great. Give Cicada Sirens and 1000 Eyes a listen.

One of the earliest killer titles in the SRPG genre, Tactics Ogre Reborn is perhaps the best this title has ever been. While I'd always have told you this game is 100% worth playing, it is now deeply engaging and challenging in really strategic ways, compared to just embiggening numbers or heaping enemies on you.
The game was always fun, but it has become more deeply and engrossingly fun. Rescue missions are actually a challenge, making the characters you rescue often very worth the effort.

Overall the art is fantastic, but the spritework being smoothed in rescaling does not do it any favours. It's a shame.
