BRING BACK THE GUILDMARM, AND MY LIFE IS YOURS!

This game had me slapping my belly laughing with glee for the whole ride. Might be the best $30 I've spent in my life. We ALL cracking Herm (real ones know)

Buriedbornes 2 is a dungeon-crawling roguelike set in a world teetering on the edge of oblivion. An ancient prophecy harkens in the doom of all life, and you take control of the corpses of the damned to explore the realm's sundered lands. I am going to be completely straightforward and say, if you haven't played the first Buriedbornes, you should absolutely consider doing so before tackling this one. It is a prelude to this game's (sometimes) overwhelming mechanical depth, and in many ways considered "better"-- however, for reasons I am about to mention, this is not entirely true.


This game is, in many ways, vastly overhauled from its predecessor, especially the combat system. Now, instead of dungeons being infinite, they are much more streamlined and meaty, which lets you go on shorter, more engaging dungeon delves than before. The combat system has been reworked to include a burst system which makes most skills have two or three skills in one, and offers a new dimension of depth to battles. Most importantly, Buriedbornes (the first) no longer receives support, while its successor is actively receiving updates from the developer.



The only downsides are graphical, as the game has lost some charm regarding combat skill art. Now (likely to save the developer's time) the ability icons are taken from the unity asset store, and have a more realistic, drab look to them. Another thing to note is the addition of factions, each of which have their own faction currency and rewards- these are important, as they are a main source of progression to unlock classes, races, contracts and items. Character creation is deeper in this game than its predecessor as well, allowing for players to choose both a race and class, all of which have their own unique abilities.


Give it a try, apple pie! The entire game is free and the premium currency (gold shards) can be earned easily in game just by playing. If you liked the first entry in the series, and you're patient, there's a lot to love about Buriedbornes 2.

Old game = empty servers, and the only players left are either really good or brand-spanking-new. Spaghetti western simulator is free & fun though so there's that.

You hunt monsters in it, 'nuff said.
