Early Access Review
Valheim is the perfect marriage of Minecraft and World of Warcraft. The game is enjoyable for all styles of gamers. Whether you prefer crafting, building, grinding, combat, or resource management; the game play loops will keep you entertained and frustrated for many hours. I strongly recommended for small groups of friends who are looking for a game that invites all styles of game play. I really enjoyed picking up a few weapons and scouting for resources while my friends built the home base of our dreams. You'l never get bored or complacent. There is always something to do. Once your team can craft portals and boats, the game opens up to a whole new set of possibilities. The graphics could be better, and I hope that the developers improve the game assets in a later update. The detail of the character models and environments are low poly, but this is understandable as the developers want to make the game accessible to last-gen consoles and starter PCs. Despite this minor criticism, the graphics do not take away from the beautiful environments created by the magicians at Iron Gate Studios.

This is a mod for a game that is almost 20 years old, and it beats half of the modern-day shooters in content and atmosphere.

If you're looking for a solid hour of Half-Life fun, this is your mod! DownFall is part one of an unfinished series. The game-play is deliberate and often punishing. Some areas are virtually inaccessible, and nothing is explained. This mod still needs work, and is much more enjoyable on the second play-through.

ALYX is the perfect entry-level VR game for any gamer. It immerses you in the world of City 17... for better or worse YOU ARE Alyx Vance. The dynamic environments, enjoyable story, advanced motion controls, and damn good level design will leave you wanting more when the game is over. Its action is fast-paced for a VR game; however, enemy encounters will not leave you disoriented. Also, ALYX is a must-play for fans of the Half-Life series. This game evolvs the FPS genre just as the original Half-Life game did with the WASD control scheme.

I played ALYX on an Oculus Quest 2 connected to my PC via the Oculus Link headset cable. I spent about $350 on the Quest 2 and link cable, plus the $59 game download -- a $400 USD commitment, all in. Totally worth the price of admission.

The game itself is a lot of fun. Highly recommended for fans of open world sandbox games.
However, multiplayer is broken. I do enjoy multiplayer, but there are so many bugs to fix.
I hope the NMS team can iron out these kinks soon. It would be a shame if this game went to waste.
