Ultimately, this game is REALLY fun. It's SOOO frustrating with how the ending is handled, sure, but every moment I had throughout the game (and the bonus fight added post-launch) was actually so fun! (In hindsight that only makes the end that much more frustrating but whatever...) The songs are definitely as good as 1, and in my opinion even better. The Dragon Part 1, The Mushroom King, Shade Dance Battle, and ESPECIALLY Backwards Obsession just to name a few :P The characters aren't as bad as people make them out to be! I love Riley so much and his theme is genuinely so cute! The thing 2 has over 1 for sure though is the combat. Yeah, it does suck a little that ALL the songs have to loop because that's what the gameplay calls for, but building up a larger and larger attack to one shot an enemy is so satisfying. The achievements encouraged me to play this way for EVERY fight, and as well as being on hard mode, it was a nice challenge I gave myself and ended up being SO fun. If you liked Everhood I think you should give Everhood 2 a try! Just don't expect a nice send off when you reach the end like in Everhood 1 T_T

I genuinely can't think of a single thing this game doesn't do phenomenally. I love every single bit with all my heart. The story, characters, music, literally everything is so amazing and insane to go through. It's packed with so much emotion, it feels so warm and real to talk to anyone and everyone, from the main characters to the ones with a single line of dialogue, all of them feel like real living and feeling people in the world. The music too just is so emotional in every way, the melancholic songs sending genuine shivers down my spine, to the intense high pressure of ones during stressful moments in the story, like oh my god... Minor spoilers:I will always hold the ending to chapter 7 close to my heart, I genuinely cried soooo much like wow... Please give this game a try it's easily one of the best experiences I've ever had and I'll never forget it.

this game is SOOO good and HEAVILY recommend it if you're even THINKING about playing it everything about it is so magical i enjoyed every minute of my playthough and I plan to play it even more
