The 1.0 update has been a disappointing downgrade. Performance is significantly worse than early access, and the AI has reverted back to having ungodly reflexes and accuracy.

Performance is wildly inconsistent, with framerate fluctuating between runs on the same map. Visual bugs such as pop-in and mesh clipping are very common. Some issues like broken reflections have yet to be fixed since being broken at some point despite working in earlier versions of early access. The game also likes to crash randomly when joining a friend or if the host returns to the PD. The crashes in the latter case are inconsistent, as it will either be the host or a connected player that crashes.

Enemies have a godlike level of accuracy and awareness, with snap-aiming, pixel peeking, and near-instant kills on players being common. This happens often at longer ranges, where the AI can laser beam a player despite being little more than a smudge in the distance. AI is spongy, being relatively unaffected by gunfire unless you use a shotgun. The movement and interaction of the AI is also very buggy, with NPCs getting stuck inside each other and having stuttery movement. This is particularly annoying when trying to order your AI teammates around, as their AI will often break and they simply won't do anything. Enemies are aggressive, charge often, and rarely surrender regardless of the person or scenario.

The lack of any ability to sprint makes getting to cover (be casually walking to cover while getting shot at) and time-sensitive missions (Elephant) arbitrarily difficult. I understand wanting to limit mobility, but having zero urgency to your movement isn't fun.

The lean/cover mechanic is not implemented well, as most of the time you will have to expose yourself more than needed because the contextual weapon lowering is too aggressive.

The gameplay hasn't been improved over early access in any noticeable way, and the customization is really the only positive I can note. Content has been removed for the release, as now you can no longer play different scenarios on each map. It's the same situation and layout, every single time.

The quality of the final product is indicative of a game rushed out the door to make a release date.

Do I think any of this be fixed? No. The release focused on adding more stuff as opposed to trying to fix or improve what's already there, and I don't see why that would change. The last update before the December release was in February, and no major fixes to any of the above issues were made. It is, in fact, not ready. I'm disappointed. Don't buy it.

Early Access Review
Great game. It's an absolute riot to play. The game's file size is small for a modern battle royale game, especially considering just how good it looks. The game is very well optimized, as with a Ryzen 3 and RX 580, I easily maintain >60 FPS almost all of the time, with the lowest dips being into the mid 50s. The different maps contain a lot of detail and are very fun to play. There are a ton of WWI to WWII era firearms, and I've played the game for about two hours and am still finding new types of guns. Something I found very funny was the fact that the level 1 body armor is just waffle irons and pots and pans.

Download it. It's got a great blend of intensity and goofiness.

probably a 6/10 or 7/10 for the base game, the only DLC to write home about is Far Harbor, which is more entertaining than the base game

settlement system is a fun addition, whether you're just customizing your own player home or making a whole settlement

mods make the game way more enjoyable, definitely look into those
