Prospector takes inspiration from a variety of games in the genre of open world survival craft basebuilding sim, and not only fails to iterate upon the concept, but bare bones it fails to make its own systems work together in a satisfying way. Unintuitive controls, constant hitbox jank, broad empty ecosystems, and in the most recent update: a drastic resizing of the UI, but not available in the options menu - it's just like that now!

I wanted to really like this game. The key art and in-game graphics are more unique, having an endearing charm to them. The different resources available were fun and different, and the NPCs were genuinely interesting. The thing with the moths, while tedious in its execution, was one step more inventive than the rest of the resource refining. I just wish that kind of imagination could be brought to every aspect of the game.
