The API is required to fetch your backpack information. Without your backpack information the bot cannot trade with you.

If you are having trouble check here http://steamgaug.es/
Visit tf2outpost.com and see if your backpack loads.. if it doesn't then the API is down. Again, the API is needed for the bot to work correctly.
