It's really fun. A game about quick thinking with resource management in mind. Get too comfortable with a single weapon and you'll run it out pretty quickly. Loving the OST.

If you're a fan of the Don't Escape and Deep Sleep series you'll love this one. Went into it blind and it took me 10 hours to play it from start to finish.

Features:

- Amazing OST
- A different disaster every night, each requiring a different setup and strategy to overcome. Night disasters change from playthrough to playthrough, which adds a layer of replayability value.
- Secret ending(s) (?)
- Friendlies that will join you in your quest if you help them.

If you're a fan of Scriptwelder's work you know what you're getting into. It's a point-and-click adventure game in which you'll have to employ logical reasoning, curiosity and common sense to succeed. Play it. You won't regret it.

I don't think I've ever cried so hard at a game before.
The development is great. The music and the artstyle are also great. The character sprites are very expressive.
It's very sad but very fulfilling. Definitely recommend.

I've been meaning to play this game ever since I watched a playthrough of it on YouTube 9 years ago. I just wished I had gotten around to playing it sooner, but I guess it was worth the wait. Having forgotten most of its progression and all, it was like a second-blind playthrough.
There is nothing about this game that I didn't enjoy. The story, ambience, artstyle, soundtrack-- when put together, they all complement each other really well.
The music in this game is something else. I've been made a fan of Warmer and Tears of Mars thanks to this game.
Gameplay-wise, this game is pretty standard. The main focus of the game is the story. Progressing in the game is not difficult by any means, but making the right decisions CAN be. Be mindful of what you say and what you do. Some choices may be inconsequential, but many will not be. But that's what life is, isn't it? You don't get to know the consequences of your actions before you enact them.
I've yet to play the other two games in the 'Devil Came Through Here' trilogy, but I'll get around to it soon enough. Even if it takes me not nine, but nine-hundred lives.

Too many negative reviews of people with ~10 hours saying that, and I paraphrase, "the game forces you to play in one specific way". You could literally run through the entirety of the campaign using nothing but the Mobile Turret mod for the Chaingun if so you wished.

The platforming sections are there to get you used to shooting while moving in the air. This game has a lot more (and much better) verticality than DOOM (2016), and you should make use of it.

The combat gets more frantic the better you become at the game. Everything gets faster. You do everything faster. My perception is that (some) people who complain about the combat "being bad" simply failed to adapt to the combat loop (for example, they'll view glory kills and chainsaw kills as a boring "cutscene" they have to forcefully sit through instead of a brief moment of respite to check their equipment cooldowns, health and armor. Plus, if you time them right you can use them to dodge powerful enemy attacks. This is deliberate.)

The only really negative thing I have to say about this game is the progression system, which is something the previous DOOM entry also suffers from, and to a much higher degree. My only guess is this is to pander to people who don't play shooters and want to feel like their character is getting stronger without actually having to get better at the game, like they're playing an "RPG™". The progression system acts as an excuse to make you start off as a (extremely) weakened version of the actual Slayer the player is meant to control, and this goes beyond stats like health and armor. You have to spend suit upgrade points to make your dash's cooldown refresh faster, and to climb up ledges faster. Things that shouldn't be unlockable and you should already have since the beginning of the game. Why?? Because progression, that's why! Fortunately, this is a non-issue in the DLCs, in case you're looking into playing those as well.

Also mods. There's plenty of mods and custom master levels that are really cool and really amp up the challenge in interesting ways.

All in all, definitely recommend. Check this one out if you're looking for that easy to pick up, hard to master simple-on-the-surface-but-actually-more-intricate-than-you-would-initially-think combat system.

Also, don't trust anyone who tells you Stickybombs is the only way to kill a Cacodemon.

- Fast, action packed, extremely fluid gameplay.
- Strafe running + Bunnyhopping = Fast
- All ranged enemy attacks are projectiles (no hitscan), thus can be dodged, and even deflected with melee attacks and explosives!
- A level of interactivity with the environment that would be akin to a combination of Build engine and Source engine games.
- OST by Andrew Hulshult (need I say more?)
- Extremely fast, skill based Free-for-All Deathmatch multiplayer mode (great for duels).
- Endless mode to test your dodging skills.

This has got to be my shooter of the year. I would even dare call it the best shooter I've ever played.
If you like Quake, you will most likely love this one!

Before I start, I feel like I should point out that: Yes, I did play LISA: The First before playing this. It is not required for keeping up with or understanding the story, but it might provide you with a bit of backstory on the characters.

LISA: The Painful and its sequel "Joyful" have been a rollercoaster of an emotional adventure. I don't really play RPGs, but this one really grew on me. The Soundtrack, the setting, the mood, the ambience, the characters, the overall aesthetic. It all blends in really well. And above all, it features what I think is possibly the perfect balance between tragedy and comedy. They are night and day, complete opposites and yet they complement each other really well in this game. This latter thing, plus the endearing characters, is what I think made me become such a fan of this game. Pain mode was really fun too, and I think it blended in really well with what the game was trying to achieve. It sure is PAINFUL to lose half an hour of progress (maybe even more) after falling off a cliff because you were saving that one saving spot for later. Plus, the OST is one banger after another.

I'm definitely recommending this game to others. Even if you don't play RPGs, you should give this one a try. Might not be your cup of tea, or it might just be the best story-driven game you've played all year.

The game starts you off with all your weapons + mods, all runes and your suit fully upgraded, which is good because it lets you play however the ♥♥♥♥ you want from the get-go. The only thing you really unlock as you play through are Support Runes: A new type of rune that takes up its own slot, and you can only equip one at a time.
Also, no crucible. That's a good thing, and don't let anybody tell you otherwise.
The only mildly frustrating aspects are the fog and the Spirits, and you should be able to deal with both of these by your 2nd playthrough.

The fog, as you may assume, makes it hard to see at a distance, thus enforcing more closer-quarter encounters. This might be kind of daunting on your first playthrough, as it may catch you off-guard, but again, shouldn't really be an issue on subsequent playthroughs.

The Spirits are a new type of enemy that can only be killed with the Microwave Beam mod for the Plasma Rifle. They'll possess a nearby demon, becoming invulnerable until you destroy its new host. In exchange, they'll buff this particular demon with great damage resistances and speed, making their weakpoints unbreakable and granting them immunity to crowd control effects such as falters and the Ice Bomb. Once exposed, it takes around 5 seconds to 100-0 them with the Microwave Beam, which slows you down in the process. This might be annoying at first, since focusing down the possessed demon/spirit in the middle of a big fight makes you a sitting duck. But again, it shouldn't be much of an issue on subsequent playthroughs, you being more experienced and able to deal with spirits in more efficient ways.

Then there's the Blood Maykr, a new enemy that can only be killed by shooting their weakpoint while they're revving up for an attack. Their attacks can slow you down greatly, but given that they can be quickly dispatched while they're exposed they shouldn't be much of an issue, unless you get hit by them in the middle of a big fight or run face first into them. Meathook away and you should be fine.

Also, tentacles. Just keep your eyes peeled while walking in shallow water and you should be fine.

All in all, three levels, much fun. Short and sweet. Here's to hoping that Part 2 is even better and harder than this one was.

A short but sweet Point-and-Click Horror-Adventure game with a great choice for artstyle and a really good soundtrack.
I think what I liked most about the gameplay was the hiding mechanics. You have to look around while you're hiding, and you can close the lid of whatever it is you're hiding in to conceal yourself entirely, but if you do it for too long you'll be found anyway.
I'll admit the chase/hide sequences got a bit tedious with how often they ocurred in the later portion of the game, but it's fine. That's mostly because I spent most of that time wandering around wondering what it was that I had to do next, but that's just me being a dumdum.

Overall, definitely recommend, and I expect to see more from the developer.
