Most of game is moderately fun, especially if you've played BDO. Puzzles are no joke, but fun. Controls are crap, but if you played BDO, you're used to that. Boss fights are stupid tough, like for no good reason except to block story progression. Would be fine, but there's no difficulty settings, so if you're not insanely twitchy with your reflexes, you quickly get to a point where you just can't progress in the game, thus ruining the experience.

Too bad, this could have been a fun game if they'd just added a difficulty slider for the boss flghts.

If you're buying for the pr0n, you'll be disappointed. If you want a superbly written, emotional story, then this may be the best AVN I've ever played (and I've played a lot of them). If you like high quality art and animations, you also won't be disappointed.

Overall, one of the top AVNs I've ever played and I can't wait for Season 2 to come out.

I'm particularly enjoying this game for the nostalgic feel and because it doesn't hold your hand with quest markers and point you in the direction you need to go. You have to figure that stuff out and EXPLORE. There's no world map (though I was told this is coming...which I'm almost a bit sad about, despite missing it sometimes lol), no automapping - just a little minimap around you (and only above ground - in dungeons you don't even get that!). For some, this may seem horrible, but it actually really affects the game design in a good way and forces you to learn about the world and explore it. It's far more immersive than modern games and honestly, a lot more fun.

If you like old-school games that really feel like old-school and not just punishing grind-fests, you'll enjoy this game. Like all old games, it's tough for the first couple of levels, but then things balance out as you get enough to gear up a bit and it becomes much more fun. Try it and give it a chance - I suspect you'll enjoy it.

An enjoyable short game. Gets your blood pumping a bit when that lantern gets really low! The music is very creepy and sets the mood perfectly. Most importantly, there is a definite sense of exploration and accomplishment when solving the puzzles.

Despite some balancing issues where the maintenance costs of units just scale to much too wide a range, I've been enjoying this game a lot. It has a rather steep learning curve, some balance issues, and the graphics are definitely....old school, but the UI is functional and well done, the overall game mechanics work well, and it captures that elusive "just one more turn" fun factor that seems so absent today in most 4x games.

This game is well worth taking the time to learn, Assuming that you enjoy the genre itself, you'll probably enjoy this game as it doesn't compromise or dumb down the game play to appeal to those who want simple and light games. This one takes thought and effort to get good at.

Yet another game that fails the boss-itis test. You get most of the way through the game and then you meet a boss that one-shots you no matter what you do. So tired of games that do that. Up until Lagon, the game was fun.

I've been looking for this game for years. I've wanted to make this game myself. I'm so happy someone else did it for me :)

I see elements from so many awesome games in the genre, - Might & Magic 6, Morrowind, Gothic, Divinity: Original Sin, and so many more, all blended together perfectly into a unique fusion of a modern game with great graphics and an old-school open-world feel.

I can already tell I'm going to be playing this a while.

Base game is a masterpiece - well balanced and extremely fun. Add in a TON of work by mod-makers over the years and this game is endlessly replayable. It's probably not for everyone, but I have to admit I haven't met many gamers who don't love this game.

If you love letting dice and RNJesus overwhelm any sort of strategy or planning you might do, this is the game for you. If you love playing craps or roulette or any kind of game based completely on luck with no ability to really change the outcome based on good planning or tactics, this is the game for you. The dice rule all. Bleh.

I have waited patiently for this game to become ready for prime-time. Despite many bugs and a truly absymal initial release (of the predecessor game Worlds of Magic a couple years ago), I've managed to put hundreds of hours into this game (and it's predecessor). Obviously, I think it's a great game. Many have tried to make a good successor to Master of Magic, but none have truly succeeded at capturing the feel of MoM. Age of Wonders came the closest, but not until Planar Conquest has the vision truly been realized, imho. If you're looking for a worthy successor to MoM, this is the game.

My only real complaints with the game are slight balance issues. Ranged attacks are a bit too important - and thus grey elves are much easier to start with than any other race, imo. However, any race is playable after a while as things even out once you start getting cities of all the races, getting good summons, higher-powered troops, etc.

I also wish heroes were a bit more powerful early on. While they can be great with good equipment and levels, they start off pretty weak. Honestly, though, that's probably a personal preference issue rather than an issue with the game itself.

Anyway, I love this game and really congratulate the devs with sticking with the initial release woes of Worlds of Magic and continuing to improve the game to the point where it's really a very good game. The devs have been actively working on this game for years and at this point, the level of polish truly shows. Despite it's rocky start, this game really has become one of my favorites of all time.
