For a demo this gets across the core game play loop. I am looking forward to the full release if any. Basically you travel from left to right across a map and explore nodes similar to Faster Than Light but it does it in real time with a pause and speed up function. Each new node you explore rewards you with a new train car which is represented by a card in your hand. There is a wide variety of cards to customize your train and add synergies and buffs with other train cars. You are limited to how many active cars can be attached to your train depending on your conductor level and you can hold up to 8 spare cars in your hand. This mechanic gives you a lot of tactical flexibility and adaptability because you can swap out your train cars at any time with ones in your hand. So having spare train cars in your hand to do specific things like increase the speed of your train to explore more nodes or escape from hazards quickly, or provide a massive buff to producing happiness to survive your journey through hazards.

I spent almost 3 hours and cleared the game several times in those hours but played repeatedly to experience other card synergies for my train. If your curious about it you'll figure out if you like it within 20 minutes. Recommended to experience because while it may be light on the story it is fairly deep with its game play elements and look forward to more train cars and new synergies, maybe even a larger map with more nodes and a higher level cap to go with it to make more complex trains and synergies to survive.

Early Access Review
I bought this game on a whim. I was browsing the points shop and saw the items for Seen bought a few of them and then became intrigued for the game itself. I went to the store page a few hours ago (as of posting this) and played what is the main story of Early Access build v0.6. While the story telling is right on the nose visually there are many ways to interpret the visual story telling. Going in entirely blind about what the game play was, and the tone of the game I am not disappointed with the ride I was taken on. I must say what really got me hooked on the game was the music more than anything else, it might be cliche or sappy sounding but the music when I started the game for the first time told me "this is going to be a good one". While I was initially disappointed that it was a bit of a left to right runner game initially became a puzzle exploration game in between 'runner' segments which I enjoyed a great deal. Overall this is the best $2 USD I ever payed for an Early Access game. And I swore to never buy into early access ever again and was successful for a few years.

I will follow up with another review once it leaves early access.

Went to do a trade run that would give me enough creds to buy 2nd ship

En route got attacked by pirates my Plasma Turning engines stolen / destroyed by pirates

Was pointed towards planet and was able to land and finish trade before blowing up

System had no shipyard / outfitter (ship parts)

Could not buy replacement turning engines

Exit starport- cannot turn to face destinations to jump

GG game ends- can't buy replacement turn engine- cannot buy new ship

2.3 hours of my life wasted

10/10 would do all over again.

You can't go wrong with this- seriously you can't- see how many hours I played? Add another 200 or so for 'offline' playing while not online.

This game and all of its DLC are pretty fun- Old World Blues is my most favorite of all the DLC and memorable of them.

The vanilla game itself has lots of replayability.

Mods- well, mods added another 200+ hours of game time fun for me.

You seriously can't go wrong with this game.

for $20 normal price, brilliant, if you get it on sale for as cheap as $7 absolutely a no brainer buy. Can't get the 40+ hours of fun for just $20 for most things in life.

Stealth - Check
Action - Check
Brutality - Check
Satisfying Stealth kills - Check
Utility Belt - Check

If you ever wanted a stealth game thats easy to pick up, play, and satisfying in a genre that has been severly lacking in true stealth for a few years then this is a great refresher. This game is really sharp and has great graphical style that makes you feel like your playing a comic book hero.

Simply calling this WoT in space would be a crime. It is listed as an MMO but is nothing of the sort- yet. Right now its more of a Multiplayer Online Game with lobby based gameplay in team vs team or Team vs PvE gameplay modes. The game is still in Open Beta state as well and there's many changes being done here and there. I don't recommend buying into the game just yet unless you'll be comfortable with some possible MAJOR changes to the game.

If you enjoyed space flight sims like X3, Freespace, Colony Wars, etc. then maybe this might satisfy an itch for competitive if at times unfair combat.

The Bad, yes the bad. Match making can be really one sided, PvE matches can be set at higher Tier difficulty making new / lower tier ships feel helpless to complete them. Some of the cash shop items are priced a bit too high for how long they'll be useful to you.

I stopped playing this game when The OBT patch v 0.8.0 went live, the patch was absolutely horrible and imbalanced, it also took the "Flavor" of faction ships away. The game pre 8.0 was absolutely awesome. I haven't seen anything since to make me go back to want to play it.

IF you can stomach the bads, and the changes during this open beta then maybe Star Conflict might be for you.
