More an artistic experience than a game, Biophobia invites the player to sit and breathe in its subject matter—succinctly defined in the Mature Content Description section—to present a piece about the complexities of, and sociological nature surrounding, sexual assault. Framed against the backdrop of a world that does not react other than mechanically, imagery is employed in such a way as to leave the door open for the player to explore their own views on body autonomy through the context of its interactivity.

The way the player progresses in Biophobia is not the disturbing part; it's the implications of control, isolation, and despair which led the assaulted here that should make the player uncomfortable.

Does any other game allow you to become the equivalent of a person-shaped fighter jet that can jump out of orbit after grappling and boosting through a series of strafing runs on your hoverboard?

From top to bottom, Arctic Eggs does a lot with a little. Well worth the asking price for aesthetics and writing alone.

Interesting combat and leveling mechanics wrapped around some of the most natural sounding dialogue juxtaposed in a supernatural world. Great queer story that effectively explores identity, fate, and friendship in the face of insecurity and bigotry.

Chill fishing game with simple mechanics and good atmospheric vibes that always give you a sense of dull tension. There is no real horror element to Mysteries Under Lake Ophelia nor is there much of a mystery, barring some conversations with the only other character in the world and an entity that you may or may not come across in your playthrough. Lake Ophelia has charm in the presentation that I fw.

If you played Fatum Betula and are looking for more of that—don't. Go into this as a separate experience and try to enjoy yourself. If you're just looking for a little 3-5 hour fishing experience, pick it up.

Thin in some aspects, but incredible execution and great added replay value through the achievements and added modes. If you like the original Alone in the Dark games or PS1/2 era Japanese horror models of inventory management, puzzle design, and combat flow, you could spend the $5 this game asks on much worse.

-The atmosphere of the station feels great to be in
-The puzzle designs are inventive with its mix of very light inventory management and the way dialogue choices are utilized, even if the formula feels kinda rote by the end
-The writing, environmental storytelling, and voice acting are all fantastic. Ultimately, I feel like it more than made up for how little you can actually interact with the world

It gives me hella Firewatch-meets-Halloween vibes and I fw that

Also, ♥♥♥♥ Ponty and his mid pizza

As a whole, both games have a strong sense of style. I found the imagery, play on perspective, visual & sound designs all strikingly obtuse while simultaneously feeling incredibly personal.

Idk, it's art. I fw it.
