Scroll to the bottom for a TL;DR!

Having played the entirety of the Dead Space series, when I heard about this game I was hyped. This being paired with the Dead Space Remaster brought back a lot of fond memories of sweaty-handed gameplay as I tried to beat the game on the hardest difficulty throughout the Dead Space series.

This game brought back some similar memories of gory space survival, but fell short in my opinion in a lot of places. Here's my take:

Graphics! What a wonderfully made world with high quality scenery. I started this game playing using a 1060 Ti GPU but I did not have any issues taking in the quality sparks, fire, blood, and movements on medium with a solid frame rate. I upgraded my GPU to a 3060 (cause Black Friday sales) which allowed a seamless Ultra settings playthrough for the remainder of the game, which was only better in my opinion. The voice actors all had well made features of sweat, movement, and emotion throughout the game which was nice to see. Even at some cutscenes I took in the specific anatomical detail to some of the gore and I said "Wow, that was actually cool to see".

Combat! This is where I began to get a little dissapointed in the game. Throughout all 11-odd hours I played the story, there was a lot of repetition for the same kind of enemies you would encounter which eventually became predictable and brought some of the suspense value down as you made progress. If I have it right I think there are 6 different kinds of unique enemies throughout the game, where were layered in a way that made it more tedious to fight. Dodging when fighting more than one enemy especially the two-headed mini bosses which can one hit kill you can easily be your demise as you try to dodge one enemy, only to fall in the striking path of another enemy. That's not to say the dodge mechanic was definitely cool to keep me on my toes for how the enemies closed the distance and created a close quarters fight, however sometimes the game would bottleneck you towards an easy way to die. Additionally, I found that the terrain in some areas prevented you from running, and you would be stuck in a sluggish trot which the enemies do not slow down from and can lunge at you.

Combat! Part Two! The weapons systems in the game were pretty cool actually. I thought the 3D printing aspect was neat, but switching weapons in the game was very tedious and made you susceptible for a lot of attacks while in a switching weapons-reloading combination. Definitely made me think my movements more thoroughly, but I found it a bit annoying, but that's just a personal thing. The environments provide a lot of unique features such as spikes and fans to launch enemies into them for an instant death, but I found a lot of glitches for the game when utilizing the GRU or whatever it is called for the red explosive canisters which would dissapear or the game would pick up some random object instead of the enemy who is in your reticle, thus wasting a grab which you have to wait to have a cooldown on.

Story! While this was definitely a fun game to go through as its own story and setting separate from the previous games the developers made, I found some of the immersion a bit lackluster. Throughout the game you can find voice recordings of main characters or people you'll never meet in the game. However, a lot of the recordings would be along the same thread without a lot of deviation, so eventually I could guess from a handful of topics what the recording would be about. That doesn't mean it won't drive in the points of despair or destruction or demise for the people who would have lived in the environments you go through, but after a while I couldn't care less about finding them as I went through the game.

TL;DR I would say this game is a easy 7/10, but I wouldn't have paid full price like I did for it. This game has a lot of fun and has enough to keep you going through the game, but I would only pick it up on sale. I have no clue what the DLC is gonna be, but it didn't interest me enough after beating the game to consider picking it up.

Quality game that has decent graphics and a decent story line, if you take the time to dedicate towards uncovering all of the clues and areas that are subtly placed throughout the game. The Forest has a moderate learning and difficulty curve, but can always pose a real threat in "power by numbers" even when you're more founded with better equipment and knowledge of the game, just to remind you that you are truly alone.

Would recommend playing multiplayer for a more fulfilling experience.

A fantastic game with many pop culture and video game references. Though at the time of this I've only played 19 hours and seen many streams on the game itself, it's replayability (a new word I've invented, I'm sure) is exceeding beyond expectations for the game.

Great pricing too which brings it all together.

Darkest Dungeon is a game that, start to finish, is a grueling and deep-diving experience for old and new JRPG players. On top of learning about the lore behind characters, enemies, bosses, and the main plot (that's not even including the DLC lines) you are brought into countless hours of viewing and reading and planning these forays into the unknowns with your characters. The dialogue is eloquently addressed and expanded upon with each journey, and the multiple factors to bring into consideration for stress, disease, and other ailments really can make you think on how to proceed, should you attempt harder difficulties. This has easily become one of my top 5 games of all time, and I would reccommend this game to anybody.

Alan Wake is a well-aged game from 2010 that holds up true to the ideals of classic horror as we know it. Throughout the near 12 hours I spent on the story mode through the 6 chapters, I was definitely intrigued with classical themes that bring a reminiscent theme of Hitchcock-ian drama (as well as many other easily recognized movies and themes of classic drama and horror) to Alan Wake in the struggles he endures. While I did find that some of the gameplay was very repititive in some areas, the plot and story still keeps running through my mind with unanswered questions, and with DLC left untouched, I can only hope that the story of Alan Wake will indeed give me more answers for well-earned gameplay time.

CS:GO Review
Obviously those young and old in the gaming community know of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. This game has been a personal favorite of mine for years now, and I've met some of the most interesting people one could naturally meet on an online game. CS:GO is a FPS classic for PC/Mac gaming communities and the true values of the expansions, gun skins, and collectibles as well as challenges really round out the enterprises of the FPS gamers as we know it. For anybody looking for a solid FPS with lots of competitive gameplay (whether in Competitive mode or not), this is a must have for the fun of gaming as we know it.

Early Access Review
Couldn't access the 64-bit installment. The 32-bit was laggy, low quality graphics. Player morale mostly crude offensive behavior to all creeds, races, and sexes. Gameplay was flawed at most - the video trailers for it made the game more appealing than the actual game turned out to be.
