Honestly, probably the best action RPG of all time. It takes existing copy/paste ARPG systems and tosses them out the window. It has multiplayer. Story. Precision combat. Customization. Building... And they're not even done yet.

Combat is fantastic, mobs are challenging, the art is brilliant. I can't praise it enough.

Give it a shot.

Crazy fun combat. Metagame is great. Buildcrafting is crazy. Characters kits and skills provide endless possibilities.

Game is just grinding and failing over and over to gain stats on pieces. There is very little strategy. The escape room portion takes a major backseat to the massive amount grind and RNG. Can't handle the scripted failures, so I returned. Art looks nice but performance is abysmal.

The monster is interesting at first but just ends up being annoying. Seriously, he doesn't stop talking and his dialog stops being interesting about 15m in.

"Spend scrip on your pieces", he says, but you only get 15-20 per failed run. Adding 1 damage to 1 piece costs 50. No thanks.

RNG fest. On King IV, the whole thing is decided in the first 5m. Don't have what you need? Too bad, you can't scale and just lose.

Perhaps I was too harsh as I keep coming back to this game. While I still don't find the difficulty climb curve enjoyable, I did have fun doing (most) of the challenges on Threat Level 2. I'm still working on completing the meta progression and 2 final challenges.

Maybe I'll give the higher difficulties a shot once I'm maxed out on power.

Very not enjoyable difficulty curve. I'm at that horrid mid game rut (challenge 4) where I'm just scripted to lose over and over until I grind enough meta resource to become over powered. No thanks.

Also, starting with -150 gold is such bad design.

The tutorial broke three times in fantastical ways.
Had to exit and restart for some of the times.
Third time was uninstall
1. When I hit ESC to close the (forced) shop, soft lock
2. Built my laser on the right side of the ship. Tutorial battle enemy targeted my laser first, broke it. Not repairable because my guy can't PATH OVER TO THE RIGHT?
3. "removed" and replaced the turret, had to retry the tutorial. This time there wasn't a way to drag my target to the enemy ship. It was just hollow.

Stadium Good

Bring on the jester awards. Stale gameplay, dwindling playerbase.

Been almost a month and the game has had almost no balance changes. Same stale meta as day 1, can't recommend.

Got a ton of fun out of this game since early access. Can't wait to try the DLC.

The worst walking simulator ever. Nothing like original The Forest. Giant map full of brainless enemies. Respawning crates full of OP weapons like grenades. No challenge, no point in building a base. Just roam the map and find the POIs.
