15 years of Monster Hunter experience had me ready, this game is well worth your time and attention. World shakes up the gameplay so much that its become its own thing, very easy for new folks to jump in and try their hand at hunting.
Capcom had our backs and delivered on free content updates and only included OPTIONAL COSMETIC mtx.
Very few issues I had and most aren't gameplay related
1. Takes a monster cpu to run the game so i ended up not being able to play it for a few months after purchase.
2. still have connectivity issues where hunters will just DC in the middle of a hunt
3. Clutch Claw
Having it mapped to the same button as the slinger was a big mistake, I had many moments where i was just trying to swing through the air and just end up slapping the claw out and grabbing nothing.
I barely ever used it for anything it does I mostly used it to taxi on monsters until i figured out worg riding.

With the end up content updates I feel comfortable saying if you're a veteran and HAVEN'T checked this game out yet now is an amazing time! Only put in ~800 hours so it's alot shorter than other MH titles but a big difference is World has ACTUAL story.

9/10 for making me wait a decade before i got to play on PC...

I've had this game for ages and just never played, two days ago I installed it AND PATCHED TWICE just to get it running on Win 10, its 2020 people just patch your damn games to work on 64bit OS and/or amd chipsets.
Now I realize this game is old and i'm trying to keep that in mind when i write this and I played this on Hard.
Gameplay was pretty bland and linear, I was expecting this OP power suit romp through the sandbox jungle just wrecking everything and i ended up sorely disappointed.
I used the max speed exactly 1 time through the whole game after seeing it tank my energy i just said "nah i'm good" and never used it again.
Swimming was actually pretty excellent and swimming with stealth on just gave me those happy splinter cell vibes.
Stealth was my main after seeing how quickly id die if i was spotted, the stealth mechanics are actually very cool from varying the power consumption via your movement and whether your crouched, standing, or prone.
The combat cycle was pretty interesting having to constantly swap between shotty/Railgun and Armor/strength to combat between different enemy types. Crysis really doesn't play like a normal fps where cover is essential you can just A-D back an forth and anything that manages to hit you gets eaten by your shield until you're out of energy.
This being on the Cry Engine i was not disappointed with the physics with some minor exceptions and those being, enemy fell down the stairs and died (korean.exe has stopped working), a rogue shotgun was laying on the concrete foundation of a building but was sunk halfway into the slab and when i walked over it i must've unstuck it cause i went sailing into the sky and died, the last was just a funny accident I didn't know you could lift and throw the red barrels so i was spamming to grab ammo and grabbed a red barrel and ran at the second last boss and killed it and myself in the process.
I don't like music in stealth/fps games so i turned it off before i started, not sorry I just cant focus.
Enemy variety is sparse but that never bothers me until you realize *SPOILERS* that the enemies are lifted straight from the matrix and anytime i was in an AA battery shooting them down I felt like i was just watching the movie.
Story was interesting at most, never really grabbed me or made me feel part of it and the ending feels off like there's a whole chunk of the game missing but maybe that leads to the sequel idk.

One last major gripe I have is the design of the final level, they frame it as optional to grab this one gun so i figured i don't need it lets see whats next. the doors are barricaded behind you so there's no going back and getting it and the final boss is killable only with that weapon. I chalk this up to bad design, you cant make a critical piece of gear like that and just let me walk away and then NOT let me correct my mistake by going back and getting it. Softlocking yourself like that isn't fun/cool so i had to start the whole mission over from a save point.

Overall the hype was WAY overblown for this game, sure its pretty (at night) but pretty and an impressive engine doesn't make a good game. Honestly had more fun playing Haze than this and that's saying something.
5/10 just wait for the remaster so it'll at least bootup.

If you are wanting an engaging single player story driven game then SOMA will be a fun experience for you.
Sound was excellent, visuals can be really disorienting if you have sensitive eyes (turned screen effects off pretty early). Honestly my only drawbacks were enemy AI can be really weird, the choices you made during the game, and lack of replayability really hurts my final score because once you go through it there's no call to go through it again.
7.5/10

I was playing this way before there was much of a story and i can honestly say i'm proud of how far this game has come. This story is present but not in your face, the challenges to progress are grindy but in a healthy fashion, the graphics are stunning, and personally I love just romping about in the water.
