The AI knows how far they're going to move before taking a turn, and they play like it. That fact alone makes this game completely unplayable against the AI... One unlucky turn can ruin the ENTIRE game for you. So the game mechanics make it feel like even when your're winning you feel like you're not... It's TOO random. A game having random elements is fine, but this game is just chaos. If that's your thing then go for it, but there is ABSOLUTELY NO SKILL evolved in plying this game. The WHOLE GAME is just to see who's gonna get screwed the worst... This game is terrible...

It's decently fun but honestly you can skip this one and go straight to "Space Crew", it is the FAR superior game...

Getting ambushed and squad wiped by an Ace and eight other planes gets really old, really fast... In SEVERAL missions, it's taken less than 30 seconds for my entire crew to go down. You have no time to respond... "an enemy ace showed up with 5 planes on top of the 4 fighters and flak fire you were already dealing with, your armor has been punctured so everyones' health bars are being melted (rapidly), there is ONE place to recover the health of your crew (one at a time) but on top of that taking forever, none of crew your will exercise ANY urgency (EVER), and to add to the stress of having to micro mange EVERTHING that happens on the plane, there is no fighter escort (until your radio op reaches lvl 9) so you're expected to do this as one plane... Deal with it!"
Your choices are to grind it out in the early game, or never have a crew above lvl 6 because you're going to be cycling through new recruits constantly. There is a big difference between games that are challenging and games that are stress inducing... this game doesn't handle the difficulty curve properly.

Good game, but the lack of controller support is holding it back. This game feels like it was made for a controller, why not support them? Very little player communication and typing in the middle of battle is a no go. If this game had Full Controller Support I could give it a 4/5.

Outside of that, the game is good enough. Combat is good but not great, the reward seems fair (granted I haven't play very long) and match making isn't fast but I've seen much worse. (MUCH WORSE!)

Unit control is where the game shines for me. Controlling units feels right. It's good... I'd venture as far as to say it's really good. It's a very important part of the game, and they kind of nailed it. Good job. To sum it all up, 3.5 out of 5, of it had controller support it would be a 4.

Great game. Resource managing is easy to learn but not so easy that it seems dumbed down. Command of troops and placement of walls and defense towers is simple and fun. It's easy to grasp each concept in the game but hard to master them all. The game also move at a fantastic pace letting you gradually gain an understanding of each individual resource. Couple the fun game play with a hard working team that has and is still putting their hearts and souls in to game that you can truly tell they care dearly for (with regular updates, free DLC, and a very active team that communicates, engages, and listens to it's fan base) and you have a recipe for success. I hope they keep up the good work and I look forward to their future projects.
