Early Access Review
One of the best management games I've played in a long time.
Been playing since Alpha and the game's been growing more and more each update.
It's amazing!

Interesting game, unique graphics and flow, but the controls are really rough. Arrows (or WASD if you customize it) for movement *and* aiming is a bit confusing for a highly-movement dependent platformer. I really want to keep playing but I've found that I've died more because of difficult controls than difficult enemies or challenging situations. Being only able to shoot in the direction that you are moving is harder than it sounds, especially in this game.

I tried the demo for a bit, played about 100 turns in game, and I imagine if I play the game long enough, then I would enjoy it, but I don't really think I need to work before I can enjoy games.

The learning curve is gigantic.
Space battle cutscenes are really boring and pointless to watch.
My head was screaming "Sid Meier's Civilizaion 5" the entire time I played.
Battle power also didn't make much sense. Game doesn't describe how organizing your fleet would improve the battle in any way.

It's basically space themed Civ 5.

2 out of 5.

I've always loved competitive games, and this satisfied my search after I was getting a bit tired of Sm4sh Bros.
Game is well made, well updated, and very fun. Rocket RC Soccer didn't appeal to me initially, but once I started playing, I hated my brother for introducing it to me. Bye bye freetime XD.

The game is primarily multiplayer online based (which is free), but there are some local solo matches you can do. The fun exists with other players though.

Constantly being updated, Psyonix is adding new features which keep the game interesting. Multiple ways to play, multiple ways to win, tons of fun.

The only down side (is it one?) is that there is a skill tier, and if you want to play with your friend who just started playing after you've been playing for a while, you'll likely crush them, and they'll likely get annoyed.

Online competitive is balanced, however, so new players will play with other new players of the same skill.

I may be a bit salty, but I'll try to make this as objective as possible.

This game is really toxic. It rewards only the top 1 or 2 players in a server.
I get it, it's survival, but there's literally no chance to survive if you don't have someone else that's already ways along in a server.

Starting out naked on a server with no tools to your name but a torch and a rock. On any significant server, you can only get as far as harvesting a bit of wood and rocks before being shot for sport by the top dogs.

It literally takes about 8 hours of gameplay, without dying, to really be safe from other players. Even then, if you want to stay protected, you have to login every 12 hours to prevent your base from deteriorating and losing everything.

The game's re-spawning resources is good, but to a point. You can get yourself a bit of progress as you scavenge resources, even be able to make a mediocre semi-auto pistol, but if you really want any kind of progress, you have to get the loot from drop crates. Again, only the top players with the most powerful guns will be guarding these and taking the loot every time.

The game becomes more stressful than fun. There is one pro to this game though; it realistically represents complete social class divide: the Rich and the Rest, bourgeoisie and proletariat.

Let them eat cake.

Tried it, but it was very confusing, and there wasn't much direction. Navigation was okay, but knowing where you are and where each room leads is still a mystery to me. Could use better map design and maybe some direction on how to actually do different things.

Cool, though, unique story (from how far I got).

I got this game in a complex bundle, and decided to try it out.

It's alright, but I wouldn't buy it.

Basically? 2D farmville or something like that.
Music is catchy for the first hour, then it will get annoying.
I always seem to need more workers, and the prices for buying things goes up insanely.
The late game achievements only require you to sit and do nothing for a long period of time, you'll eventually get them if you have the patience.

No real skill needed, no real goal or objective, just a mix between cookie-clicker and farmville.

If you are really bored, you could buy it and waste 10 hours, but that's about it.

I can't play this any more....

*opens game anyways*
*continues 2nd night*
*dies by chicka in 45 seconds*
*closes game*
*goes to happy place*

Impressively scary, forcing you to rely on one of your most unreliable senses...
