Amazing game. Solid story, variety of random activities to go through and sidetrack with.
Remains engaging for extended periods and offers a great introduction into the Yakuza storyline.

Don't be an idiot, don't try to do all the achievements.

Early Access Review
Clever format and addicting gameplay. Growth of the game has been commendable, with every new King adding a unique experience. Takes quite a refreshing approach to card roguelikes that have become prevalent as of late.

Balance remains an ongoing task to tinker with, in order to find a sweet spot. Phasing into higher difficulties could be drastically improved. While improving balance, the game should encourage a wider variety of strategies to be able to adapt into higher difficulties which have increased modifiers. Early access development seems to be thriving as new modes are being added, but striking good balance between card types is paramount to scaling variety into higher difficulties.

While I do need to experiment further, the game offers a lot of choices such as with the Kings, Perks, Difficulties. Players can spend hours optimizing Perk arrangements, experimenting different builds and changing the feel of the game by using different Kings and picking other difficulties.

Well worth a shot at its price, as it continues to grow and evolve into something better :)

Incredible piece of software. It does what it says, and it does it very very well.

It just works!

Great twist on your typical minesweeper game. Adds some complexity as you go up worlds with introducing more rules, but still remains very down to earth and easily palatable. Puzzles can be logically resolved and doesn't need any guesswork, as you would expect.

Perfect clear only allow for a 1-mistake limit and is indicated by a reflective cleared label. For the larger stages, an undo button would have been ideal to avoid the loop of essentially hitting the 2-mistake barrier and then replicating everything all over again.

Aside from this makes for an enjoyable puzzle game. Price point is pretty apt given that it is an incredibly short game.

Looking forward to playing the successor games in the series

Your interpretation of this game might be heavily influenced based on if you have played quality story experiences like Detroit Become Human prior to this. In comparison ,the controls are extremely clunky, most of which is just smashing two buttons randomly.

While the story is good from a high-level perspective, it flows really poorly. Several instances where you are jumping from time to time, learning more about the MCs background. While this storytelling style works for some, it results in losing interest and extended scenes of pointless filler story.

To add fuel to the fire, it is very completionist unfriendly with multiple endings that differ just by a little and having unskippable credits at the end. This game feels quite dated today, and while it is several steps above Heavy Rain, that is not saying much.

Probably worth catching a recap of this and Heavy Rain to consume the story pieces. Alternatively pickup Detroit instead, as it is a perfect example of masterclass story with engaging controls, where choices actually deviate the story significantly.

P.S: Steam Deck compliance is also a blatant lie.

Game is ridiculously good and satisfying to play. Great twist on typical rhythm games, lot of different options in terms of controls and has what you want out of rhythm games; Simple to learn, extremely difficult to master and feels great to improve and get atleast 1% better every session.

Fun game, good story. Gameplay bit dated but its doesn't take away much from experience if you don't let it.

Not sure why this game got the flack that it did. The idea is there and it works even better than expected. Impeccable story (specially if you are a Sci-fi lover), good blend between live action scenes and gameplay that keeps you wanting for more and more. You can tell the production quality is incredible just within a few minutes of watching the extended scenes.

Criminally underrated game, and that's not just my Remedy bias speaking out here.
Like most other Sci-fi things, it does have its plotholes and if you are going to nitpick you aren't going to be happy. Combat and gameplay mechanics is incredibly fun and satisfying at the Hardest difficulty, but it does feel a bit rough around the edges, and you are basically like a feather and die immediately if you make mistakes.

Graphics are incredible on max settings, never ceases to amaze from start to finish. The final act and battle can be an absolute nightmare on Hard difficulty, there is a extremely HUGE difficulty spike and it takes quite a lot of skill to beat the final moments. On Hard you are basically almost always one shot away from dying. Snipers and Grenades can one hit-ko and need to be kept a watch on. If you are just here for the ride, probably turning down the difficulty is recommended.

P.S: Collectables are actually very interesting to read through and get across all the gaps and lore in the game. Also some nice kickbacks to Alan Wake if you are looking for them ;)

Essentially scuffed osu!mania. But I mean that in a good way, it is pretty casual and relaxing. Pretty nice library of songs, looks like it has the core of DJMax which is what really makes it feel good.

The relaxing tracks and sync rate progression and gradual improving is probably going to keep me going a while.

Keeping all the positives in check, a few things to keep in mind are the game admittedly feels a bit scuffed, in terms of UI and presentability. If you are coming from really well developed rhythm games, you can tell the menus and navigability and presentation of scores can do with lot of QoL and improvements, but that doesn't really come in the way of gameplay much.

For the elitists out there, bad presses doesn't deter score, and this can make and break some fans. However, if you want to actually make any skill progression and keep high sync rate, you can't realistically abuse this anyway. But its something to keep in mind prior to purchasing I guess. From what I hear, some songs have such complexity at higher levels that this might be warranted, but its debatable.
