It's an open ended fighter with a bunch of cheap stuff. Most games shy away from having the kind of dirt that is present in this game, but this is the game that fills the void for those who want unblockables and Touch of Death combos. At the same time, core defensive mechanics are so strong that you're rarely truly forced into unwinnable situations. Also, despite what the numbers on steam charts suggest, due to having full cross play, the playerbase has thousands of players every month on ranked mode. Unless you make it to the very top of the ranks, matches are extremely easy to find if you live in the US. The region lock for matchmaking makes it rough for regions outside of NA. For those cases, I'd recommend joining one of the main region discords or entering tournaments.
