✔️ Combat is fluid, sure.
❌ But the game has tons of problems:
Way too much random chaos on screen
Almost impossible to use items during boss fights
Bosses attack so frequently that you barely get a chance to breathe
Overall pacing feels punishing instead of challenging

This isn’t just about the new Monster Hunter-like design. The core combat itself is frustrating. I was excited when I first saw what the developers were going for, and I respect the ambition, but the end result just isn’t fun for me.

🚫 I can’t recommend this, especially if you loved the first game for its original charm and balance. I leave a positive review because I respect Ska and try to finish the game (I hope :)

P.S. There’s a big difference between “difficult” and “frustrating.” Sadly, this game leans into the second.

A good roguelike game with procedurally generated story. If you like this genre (like Tome of Maj'Eyal, you'l definitely love this game).

BUYERS BEWARE: Unlike the regular version, Steam version doesn't work offline.. Needs Steam client connected to the internet or application won't open. This situation led me to refund. Other than that, i couldn't see much difference from the regular version.

IF you can't change board and pieces, check the game directory for additional fonts install file. Should be under /Prereqs directory. Install that then restart the client.

This version doesn't come with engines and you need to install engines manually. Check "Manage UCI Engines" option in one of the tabs and select Stockfish / Komodo or an engine of your choice. Leave everything at default value and engines should work. Stockfish is a free engine and Komodo has a free version as well.
