its good but rife with very suspicious players; snapping to you through walls and being weirdly consistent at double headshotting with semi auto weps (even had my friend who otherwise has great internet get disconnected at the weirdest time during the last round of ranked)

seriously though outside of dealing with cancerous uber sweat setups this game is fun as hell and it has a legacy battle pass system so no F.O.M.O really.

if you liked the combat loop of doom eternal this game is a bit similar with the obvious roguelike twist, very tight and well made gameplay wise and has a good amount of content for the price. otherwise kinda lacking in terms of bosses or routes to take in actual runs as its always the same bosses and enemies with no side paths or anything really new content wise after beating a full run

absolute cinema 10/10 game

learning how to get around shouldnt take long and once youve really got the hang of it moving around like a lubed up slinky with a mind of its own is half the fun

very stressful and fun asf scenarios and environments to encounter as you climb. decently challenging but definitely fair and doable

characters are fun as hell, bosses are fun

the new map ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SUCKS because theres bottomless ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pits EVERYWHERE making navigating the place quickly to deal with the stupid crystal hollow gimmick annoying

outside of that this DLC is disappointing as hell because WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERES NO NEW WEAPONS OR SPELLS!?!? and most of the predictability of runs is still there...

pros: very fun and difficult game with a neat aesthetic and a very engaging combat loop

cons: the combat loop is very strict, the essentials to using your kit arent well explained and the game is pretty short to boot.

in short: if they added a more in depth tutorial that gives some practical examples of how to use your tools best and if they added some more content itd be perfect (seriously itd be a waste to not do more with this game, (especially with it being 20$ to begin with)) but as is i cant recommend (ill likely update this review if they adress any of these issues.)

i love this game with a passion but good god the way the devs handle this game is beyond ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ embarrassing, incompetence beyond comprehension. if you arent already here getting what you can out of the game then stay away (im here till killer is unplayable atleast).

this game is good and will continue to get better, begone skill issue having tourists.

the sound design makes me wanna eat the cards

good combat, interesting gimmick with the lantern and umbral world reminiscent of something like legacy of kain. devs have been committed to fixing and improving the game in a way that isnt commonly seen these days and you can host the game for a buddy for free. honestly just get it its good.
