Gorgeous, fun, a little rough around the edges, but still an easy recommend.

Pros: Beautiful music and environments, a refreshing take on turn-based combat, plenty of short side stories and lore tidbits to discover in an open world, you can beat up a child's parents in front of them and then steal candy from said child

Cons: Grindy at times, a huge nugget of lore is completely missable, party members don't interact in main story cutscenes

Overall, Octopath delivers as an enjoyable and memorable experience. I bought the sequel midway through.
