More polished and feature rich than the earlier Starcom: Nexus, which is a good time already. Really enjoyed this and it sucked me in. I hope series gets at least one more entry.

Difficult to rate this game. It's ok in most aspects, but still has technical issues which at the moment sometimes get in the way of playing too much (looking at you "building shaders").

So, if you like the series you'll probably have at least a decent time with it. I would not pick this as an introduction to the series if you are new to it.

Update to review: Changed to negative. Technical problems have just increased. I can't even run the game without it crashing first multiple times. Let alone needing to build the shaders again every single time in the hopes that it might help the game run.

Can't set keyboard controls so unplayable without some other kind of input device.

Controls are too sluggish for the speed of the game. Can't recommend as this is mostly just rage inducing.

Decent game in a vacuum, but I didn't get sense of awe I did with the original. It's a little bit repetitive as it's an open world game so there has to be something to do everywhere. The faction enemies are boring.

The game has an achievement for dying 1000 times. Should tell you how much "fun" it is.

The controls are not good, sometimes I got a jump if I was moving at the same time, sometimes I didn't. Grinded through to Friday morning level and then wanted to throw my keyboard through the window. That level adds a time pressure. Fun times with the controls which suck. Controls failed me every time, or I got snagged on something (pretty much instant fail in that level). Could't do it and gave up. I can't find any video of anyone doing it so can't even watch the ending. Game has an "easy" mode, but that just adds one or two checkpoints. Didn't make it any easier.

Games challenge mode seems broken. I can only do the first one and after that when I go back to challenges it says "no time recorded". Not sure how it's suppose to work, but seems broken to me.

Ps. If it wasn't obvious already, I played with a keyboard.

Once again you would need the neutral option since I can't fully recommend this, nor is it complete trash either.

I didn't really care for the core plot, but the faction stuff is mostly good. But there is not enough of it. Akila City is easily my favorite location. The planet exploration was fun until you start to see identical locations multiple times. I understand basic building layouts can be the same since it's more efficient in reality too, but when the details are all same too it's not good and breaks immersion. Ship customization is kind of ok, but has too many restrictions. Waiting for full mod support to get rid of those. Base building is pretty much useless at this stage and also annoying. Only did what was necessary for achievements.

The game world is huge, but hollow and I hope DLCs, or modders, bring more to it.

I only briefly tested this with the new DLSS support for Nvidia cards and it does seem to really boost performance. I played without it the first go around. Going to continue with my second playthrough when DLC content becomes available. I may adjust my review later to reflect how I feel about things then.

Anyway, since can't vote neutral I'll go with positive.

It's ok and I had a decent time playing it. I was disappointed with the number of repetitive quests. DLCs are not worth the money.
