I get that you want to "balance" the game, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it's like you're trying to have your cake and eat it too. Make up your mind. Either make the game fun for players where we get to keep feeling overpowered and like super soldiers, or bury this game 6 feet under these ♥♥♥♥♥♥ nerfs you've been putting out since launch.

This was the first game I bought on Steam back in 2009. And man do I have a lot of great memories of playing this. It is a fantastic game if you decide you want to get into it, even today. But the reason I can't recommend it is because Left 4 Dead 2 overshadows this by an incredible margin. There's just way more content, and they even ported all the L4D1 missions over! I will never forget the time I spent on this amazing game, but please don't waste your money on this version of the game. I promise you're doing yourself a favour by picking up L4D2 instead :)

I'm only 20 hours in, and to be honest I've spent most of it just exploring the world. I've read all the books and watched the movies, but I don't really consider myself a hardcore fan or anything.
So far it's decent. I've had minimal performance issues when it comes to loading into a new area, but it runs pretty smoothly. The combat system after a brief tutorial at the start feels very intuitive. I never know how much fun I'd have learning spell combos.

If you're looking to get into this and are worried about things like the difficulty scale, don't worry about it. I don't usually play games like these myself, but so far the gameplay has been smooth sailing from the get go.

9/10 so far.

lost all my loot again

Just finished the Ode to Castlevania DLC.
Fantastic. The sheer amount of content basically makes it another game.

Solid.

40 hours, level 187, just completed all 3 endings NG+2
I still have no idea what the story is since I skipped all the cutscenes.
Good game-play, great soundtrack.

10/10 won't play again.
