Definitely recommend, though im mostly writing this review to offset the review bombing from people salty about the DLC announcement. Its genuinely just some extra train types, no core features are being locked behind a DLC.

good game with nice storytelling and a refreshing mixture of citybuilder/4X gameplay styles.

Welcome to webfishing, a fun little (i mean *little*) game about fish that fits in two whole files. The descriptions for each fish are amusing, the mechanics are simple and intuitive, and watching special snowflakes in the review section whine and cry about pronouns ruining their "traditional values"... furry fishing game(?) make me laugh. Seriously though, is someone putting a gun to the heads of conservatives and forcing them to play games they hate? is it like a masochism thing? the world may never know.

Welcome to Nuclear Option, here's a fun fact. Every missile and every weapon *can* harm any target. All im saying is, that compass i just splashed probably wasn't expecting a lynchpin through the cockpit, thats not what they're made to target.

However, the humble cricket cares not what the missile is built for, it fires volleys of them anyways and whatever is in front of it is fair game. All jokes aside, play more cricket. its small, its cheap, its hard to detect and it punches way above its weight class if you know what you're doing with it.

Game is dead and abandoned with next to no communication from the developers and dozens of unfinished promises. Dont buy it and refund it if you have. The company fired the devs, took the money and ran. Now they're laughing all the way to the bank.

Great game, balance could use some tweaking. Hordes ramp up way too quickly while static defenses feel like they're made of paper and the guards have nerf blasters. This is all on the easiest possible difficulty as well. After a few weeks of balance adjusting though this is going to be something i play for hundreds of hours.

Update: Several months down the line. Balance has improved *Significantly*, to the point where i can now consistently survive indefinitely if i play my cards right. My squads still feel sometimes like they have a crippling lack of brain cells, but thats what sitting in a sealed basement full of lead pipes for years will do to you isnt it? Still don't know who gave the zombies a near lethal dose of methamphetamine, replaced their arms with drills and gave them a structural engineering degree before releasing them to deconstruct my carefully planned fortress, but at least the defenses actually fight back now.

This is one of my favorite games, I wholeheartedly suggest you try it. However, there are a couple of things I think you should know:

-the building system is insanely in-depth. To this day I haven't managed to build a ship that doesn't break down after one mission. It's so rewarding to finally see your new build start up, but I've never had the skills to get there

-The devs are a little silly. They mean well, but their community policy is a bit misguided in my opinion. They also seem to have a bit of an aversion to play testing and most updates break the game entirely for a few days. This last DLC made the game legitimately unplayable and people are in an uproar over it.

-be prepared to handle janky AI. The people you rescue are clinically braindead and incapable of independent thought or movement. You need to physically walk up to them and tell them to move before they realize fire hurts. The concepts of ledges, stairs, and ladders are also quite foreign to them but they're endearing in their own way.

If you're fine riding out the rough edges, this is a great experience. Even better with friends, but I would not recommend installing the weapons DLC in multiplayer, speaking from experience there.

I love this game, i love it to death and enjoy playing it with my partner more than anything. However, i cannot recommend this game to a new or returning player because of the agonizingly high skill floor. You will have to grind for hours to get a good loot haul, you will sail across the map and solve the glitchiest and vaguest puzzles imaginable and at the end of the day when you go to cash in the spoils of your work, you will be killed in seconds by a crew of four basement dwellers and all that work goes down the toilet. Even if you think you're the best PVPer in the whole wide world, they will eat an entire magazine of blunderbuss shots yet kill you in one. Sisyphean cannot even begin to describe the experience of playing this game.

TL:DR good game, most toxic community i've ever seen. rare please im begging you just add private servers or a dedicated PvP zone so the sweats can sweat and the normal people can have their nice pirate game alone.
