I actually really love most of this game, but it falls apart dramatically in certain areas to the point it becomes extremely annoying and kind of a chore to play. There are certain types of levels and obstacles that do not have consistent approaches to them period. I understand that the game is essentially randomly generated, but the types of terrain and obstacles generated randomly do not have consistent interaction. For example, in the desert worlds, there are certain ways flame cages can spawn that entirely prevent you from utilizing any of the boost rings or the steeper terrain inside them. Its just a forced slow down. Period. This pattern repeats across much of the game and makes you wonder how much of this game the devs have actually played. The farther you get into the game the more their idea of "difficulty" becomes impossibility. this creates a game that gets WAY less satisfying as you play it for longer. First 4 hours of this game are great, anything after that is a waste of your time. I would love to love this game and would update my score if something fundamentally changes, but as it stands, its a frustration machine that punishes you for playing it.

The game is really fun: most of the time. Recent updates have improved it a lot, but the balance is still absolutely wacky and frustrating. it leads me to put this game down for months at a time. The ideas are great, the core concept really works, but random difficulty spikes, unclear explanations of mechanics and an inherently unfair balance scheme lead to more feelings of dissatisfaction than enjoyment. I really want to love this game, but i just cant.

A breath of fresh air. Hilarious, engaging, clever and just ridiculously fun. Games like this give me hope for the future of the medium. If I could erase my memories of it in order to play it for the first time again, I would in a heartbeat.
