✅ Pros:
Beautiful retro-style graphics with a disturbing atmosphere
Impeccable sound design that heightens tension
Simple but effective puzzle mechanics
Multiple endings for replayability

❌ Cons:
Story is ambiguous and can be hard to follow
Short playtime (~3 hours)

Summary:
You’re the new keeper of an old lighthouse after the last one vanished. Seems easy—until the unsettling noises and strange visions start creeping in. A slow-burn psychological horror that sticks with you long after you’ve finished. Highly recommended for fans of atmospheric horror.

Score: 8/10

While playing this game, I experienced something I’d probably never experience IRL - exploring a cave.

I think this game’s purpose is to immerse us within the atmospheric depths of this cave and experience paranoia and dread while trying to discover our brother’s whereabouts.

The game fantastically surrounded us within a soundscape that built an atmosphere of emptiness and loneliness AND also occasionally drew us to the fact that we weren’t alone.

It is a basic walking sim with a pretty streamlined layout for the player to follow, simple objectives to achieve and overall is easy to understand. The progression in the game flowed well, with the player easily moving through the story without hindrance.

The theme of the game is somewhat obscure. Are we there primarily to rescue our brother and friends? Are we there to join them in their exploration but find trouble? Or are we there to STOP our brother and friends? And if so, from what? What is our purpose?

The unclear theme makes the mechanics of this game (which is the exploration of the cave-part), somewhat uninteresting. We see a lack of story which limits the emotional connection or even tension for us to experience during the game. A lot of the encounters we face throughout the game are puzzling and ineffective. Without the emotional connection or even dread we require during the gameplay, it becomes difficult to enjoy more of the experience.

For an hour-long game, the one puzzle we face is pretty simple to solve. A little trial and error gave the puzzle a sense of difficulty and achievement. And the narration and voice acting helped easily drive the game forward.

My favorite aspect of this game is the detailed soundscape which truly helped me immerse myself into this game experience.

No matter how many years I've played this, I always end up back in Banished.

My second favorite after The Cat Lady. Wish there was multiple save slots though.

It is exactly as described - short game to have during your coffee break. Simply satisfying.

https://youtu.be/n8TuQPboeOg The scariest out of the 3 in the series. This follows urban legend of monster in the woods in a kid's perspective - pixel art style themed for the 80s - love it. MORE PLEASE!
