I'm leaving a negative review simply because the developer lied on the store page about this game, There is no monster/entity following you, and there is no story to uncover. This is a simple nature walking simulator with a backrooms texture pack and nothing more. However I will say this is a perfect game for people to experience the backrooms without being scared, simply exploring and enjoying the weirdness of the backrooms without the worry of jump scares or being chased is perfect for those who hate horror games but might be interested in the backrooms. I will also say another reason why I'm leaving a negative review is the use of invisible walls, these are incredibly immersion breaking and for a game that relies on that is pretty bad.

All in all if you are reading this review before playing this game just know that this is not a horror game and a simple walking sim that allows you to explore the backrooms at your own pace.

Before the review I would give this game in it's current state a good 7.5/10, however I would gladly give this game a 8-9 when the bugs and certain issues get fixed.

For a 5 dollar game it is really well done! And with it being co-op it is still frightening but the co-op also makes it funny aswell! The main reason why it can be scary is because the monsters are actual AI that can chase you and exist in the world space but also will leave the world space so you wont be blocked from progressing, Sort of how the amnesia monster worked. There was only like 2 puzzles in the game from what I remember, one during the tutorial and one later on which I felt was bugged so probably not a puzzle and those said puzzles sort of tell you what to do via the notes so there is barely any real thinking that goes on for puzzles so I wouldn't call this a puzzle game, it's mostly wonder around and find key items you need to progress while trying not to die, but it is still fun considering it took me and a buddy of mine just over 3 hours to beat it so the gameplay loop didn't have long enough to become tedious and boring. It also comes with proximity voice chat that is pretty good and a radio voice chat which includes a radio filter, the radio is a physical item which is sort of neat cause it effects gameplay, so if you get split up with your friends you will feel alone while trying to find each other again while being able to hear distant monsters trying to kill them lol. I do hope the developer decides to add more levels to the back rooms, currently there is only 1 but it several areas so it would be cool to have new areas to explore and puzzles to solve.

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

***This next part will contain some spoilers as I will mention a few things with the monsters however if you are familiar with the back rooms stories then you should already know what to expect when coming into this game but if this is your first time with the back rooms and want to be blind then feel free to skip this part of the review this is mainly for the developer to see and others to know what to expect in the current state of the game***

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

However with that being said there are several underlying issues with this game that I feel need to be addressed as soon as possible. A few of me and my buddy's deaths seemed very unfair in that being the face tends to kill you from long distances if you stare at it for too long, I'm not sure how it works exactly/what it's attack range it, It killed me once from very far away and I was just peaking to see if it was gone, and it was like 40 feet away when it killed me. It also spawned on top of me twice and killed me both times, Once when I was just walking around the world space and the second time it spawned on top on the locker I was hiding in. Another instance of this was I respawned on my corpse only to be infront of the dog, this happened only once so I wouldn't count that as an issue I think it was just a coincidence. The monsters also tends to chase you till the ends of the earth till you reach a locker or a certain distance I think? The monster will also switch targets if someone is near when the other player hides in a locker, I feel there could be a line of sight system for the game because sometimes it felt weird that they knew were I was after I ran around like 4 corners. Also the lockers feel too safe at times, when you are being chased even if the monsters are right behind you the moment you touch a locker they stop going after you, I feel the lockers should be allowed to have the monster rip it open if you jump in with them too close, I also feel you should be able to hide from them aside from running into lockers, seems your only way to escape is to jump in a locker which is a 100% guaranteed survival chance and the other is running far enough away, so dont go thinking hiding in corners while crouched will save you cause it most certainly wont. A minor issue is that the english written on the notes is done in poor grammer, It feels like someone with english being their second language and they are a few months into learning it wrote the notes, It's not SUPER bad but it can cause some issues when reading and or understanding them.

I cannot recommend this game for it's current balancing. Now I started a long ass review and felt it got to all over the place so Imma keep it short and sweet. Try this demo for your self and see how you like it but my biggest problems with this game are the workers and the time sink.

Worker example: They have stamina and that stuff depletes quickly and they don't do to much work, They do have skills which you can upgrade to have them perform better however this doesn't feel very impact full on their performance. For instance it can take a single worker 2 days to water a green house and like 10 days for up to 4 workers to set up a green house (After it was built by a construction crew after 1-2 days). They Have to dig it out, then till it, then fertilize it, then plant it, then use pesticides on it, then water it which seems to take them way to long to do specially with more then one person so more then one worker even at max stats seems to not help much and if it really does then honestly I'd hate to see how long it will take for them to do all that with out those stats... yikes.

Time sink example: When those tomato greenhouses are set up completely then you have to wait 80 days for the plants to become harvest able then 40 days after each harvest and the problem with this is each green house only gives you roughly 700-800 euros per full harvest at 40-80 days while your employees are paid per month (30 days) at the rate of 1000+ per month so basically 2 green houses will barely pay for one employee it would seem and they don't even work that effectively so that's a bit high of a price to pay for not very efficient workers.

Sadly to say I legit sat there on 3x speed for so long without doing a single thing trying to make money so I could start doing the cool stuff like using tractors and combines of fields but sadly you'd probably have to spend like 4+ hours grinding tomatoes to get to that point. Now this is based off the scenario so it may be set to a higher difficulty then a normal scale which could be why but however having a demo set that way seems like a bad idea simply because not many people will get the full idea of what your trying to bring with this game if you have to sit around and do nothing for about 30 mins on 3x speed. There are a few other things about these points however I feel I'll drag the review on to long again so I say go ahead and give the free demo a try and leave your feed back for the devs however mine so far is workers and the amount of time spent doing nothing sucks. Sadly I couldn't get to the juicer stuff to give my opinions on those.

If you love City builders/ant farm games then this is for you, It's a mixture of Banished and stronghold legends if I had to compare but instead of basically starting in the iron age you start off in the stone age and work your way through tech trees and to unlock new ages all the way up to iron.

It's like strong hold legends because of the random attacks by wild animals and raiders plus defense building, and like banished because its graphics/food management and villages rather then kingdoms and knights.

You can use animals to help with laboring much like in stronghold legends, plus you can domesticate dogs to help defend and hunt, the reason why dogs are called mans best friend.

And the game is really well put together And can't really say I've found to many negatives at the point of righting this review but I have hit the bronze age at the point of writing this. But my only real complaint is I wish to move the camera down a bit more then the game allows but it's not so bad majority of the time.
