The strongest fairy in history.... versus the strongest boulder of today...

Undertale walked so Deltarune could fly high and smash all the conventions of a typical RPG experience.
AND you can play the first two chapters for FREE in the DEMO?
Well worth the 25 USD price point, great job to Toby Fox and the rest of the team!

It's mind blowing just how well-crafted and immaculate this game is in terms of mechanics, overall game feel, and visual design. The developers really knocked it out of the park with this loving homage to the classic Wario Land-style platformers of years past, and it's amazing to see how much influence this game takes from those platformers and twists it into its own fresh style. Every single sprite, every piece of animation, and every screen-splashing artwork accentuates the sheer INSANITY of Mr. Peppino Spaghetti's Bizarre Adventure, and I can't get enough of it.
Every level may seem incomprehensible at first, but if you really take the time to appreciate the layouts and understand the quirks of each area, you'll find yourself wanting to uncover all of the secrets and even reach a P-Rank (the highest rank possible for beating a given level)! The second laps fuel that desire of reaching the apex of what the funny Italiano is capable of, fully realizing the special sauce that is the chef's moveset.
If you like the game as much as I did, you'll come to yearn for that mastery over the game and get everything that the game has to offer. And eventually, the Pizza Time music won't even wonder if you're ready to get funky, it already knows you are.

This also goes without saying that every single track manages to have its own zany style and hook you into the atmosphere of the areas you'll be exploring in this tower. So many fun details are added into these songs, and if you're not too willing to give the game a shot, then at least listen to a few of the tracks from the OST.

Truly, this game is *chef's kiss* molto bene.

This game raises my blood levels and crushes my spirit to such a degree that I question why I even picked up my controller and assume I would win so easily.

Never have I despised a stupid purple bat, or writhed in agony at a fat blubbering blue frog destroying my run.
I keep dying in so many stupid ways, I almost cry at how well-executed each death is presented by this game.

The deeper you go, the higher the stakes rise & the lower your IQ becomes.
It's a neverending rollercoaster of courage, hubris, smooth-brain plays and dread at losing it all.

And yet the whole ride is SO damn fun, an absolute must-play for those versed in platformers and rougelikes, ready to have any run be crushed yet still enjoying those highs of surviving and experiencing the most hilariously insane scenarios that Spelunky can offer.
Still holds up as an absolute banger, even with the sequel long having been released.

10/10, best game I've never beaten (yet.)

I don't usually write reviews for games, but Terraria is one of those particular exceptions on which I can't help but recommend to all of my friends and those looking to have a fantastic sandbox experience filled to the brim with various activities for you to enjoy. The newest update for Terraria, that being the fabled Journey's End update which had fans dying to know what it had in store for them, brings a lot of cool stuff for newcomers and veterans to enjoy. From chopping trees, killing eldritch pixelated bosses, mining various kinds of ores, going out to fish with the boys, dying from insidious traps, gaining pseudo-upgrades that echo the glee that comes with RPG-styled elements, and (more recently) having the opportunity to play funny little games of golf, Terraria has an astounding amount of stuff to offer that I personally feel many people tend to overlook when they try to get into Terraria. That's not to mention the fact that this game allows for players to take up four classes: melee, ranger, summoner, and magic. Any of these classes can be mixed and matched in pre-Hardmode, but you'll find yourself needing to lean towards a certain class when you enter late Hardmode, so you can essentially fight and play however you'd like when starting out.

My best recommendation, not counting the fact that you should definitely cop this game ASAP, is to play the game all by yourself. Singleplayer is hands down the best way to experience everything that Terraria has to offer, and while multiplayer is definitely a ton of fun in its own right, you might find yourself getting carried throughout pre-Hardmode all the way to the endgame because some guy thought it'd be a great idea to fight the WoF before the main party has even had a chance to get silver/tungsten armor or even decent weaponry. But, if you still feel you need that push to play the game from your friends who have had more experience playing Terraria, small groups of friends you can trust and a nice, slow pace can definitely elevate the gameplay of fighting monsters and finding treasures deep in the underground as a collective team.

As much as I'd love to go on about every single aspect of the game that I adore, it's best that you just jump into the game and see what it has in store for you. You may have to do some grinding for items that you really need, and you'll find yourself having a bit of a slow start in the early stage of Terraria, but if you give the game a fair shot, you'll see that Terraria is far from being just a 1:1 replica of Minecraft but in 2D. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to get back to crafting the strongest blade in the game... oh boy..

Update: Finally crafted the Zenith. Phenomenal game, and it keeps getting better!
