TLDR, the game is a big fat 'meh'.

When I read the reviews, I thought I would really enjoy it, because I do have two friends to play it with. But instead, it's super stressful because of these cursed Fortnite mechanics, the meta progression is just plainly disappointing, and there is absolutely no magic to this world. There are no interesting secrets to discover, it doesn't have the same "everything can kill me here" feeling, and it just doesn't feel like Elden Ring, even though it uses the same assets.

One of the most interesting games I played this year.

I came for the unique art style and stayed for the smooth combat, interesting setting and addicting gameplay. That's big praise considered that I usually have a hard time warming up with sidescrolling games, but as a huge rogue-like/rogue-lite fan, seeing some familiar and beloved elements in this game kept me playing until the combat really drew me in for good :D

I'd also like to mention that I had a game breaking bug when I first downloaded the game, and the devs replied to my support request WITHIN MINUTES and put a new version of the game on Steam immediately. Never had such responsive support before for any software!

While most other reviews focus on gameplay and platformer mechanics, I just really enjoyed the story and characters :)

I've been working on First Strike, the spiritual predecessor of Stellar Commanders and have been following the development ever since. It's really exciting to finally be able to play the long awaited multiplayer! I mean for a fan of the series it's absolutely a must, isn't it? And for everyone else: I love how recently, games started to offer the function to play exciting, short matches. I'm a big fan of DotA Underlords' Knockout mode, and I'm a big fan of Stellar Commanders' similar vibe, BUT WITH ROCKETS AND SPACE AND LASERS!!!
