having played a lot of resource gathering/ building games, one thing I'm impressed with is how the game handles making different pieces line up smoothly. You don't need to finagle around with 16 different slanted walls or corner roofs to find one that matches what you need, you just place the wall along the roof and the edge cuts off where it should. there's not a ton to do just yet, but what is there so far is really good.

it's a clunky PvP battle royale with delusions of grandeur. early access balancing changes mean the class you've been practicing might suddenly be nerfed to hell, but you can only have one character unless you drop $30, so you'll have to delete and start from scratch to even try out other classes. "Free to Play" is functionally a very limited demo mode and this game is not worth the $30 they want to actually delve into it.

overall a pretty fun game. lots of tools and power-ups to collect, most puzzles can be solved in a variety of ways. packed with outdated memes and references. the only downside is, the ending was kind of crap

The creators of this game heard the term "hack n' slash" and misunderstood the definition of "hack" intended. As a result, we have a unique experience that is equal parts traditional RPG sword game and bullet hell. throw in beautiful visuals, a theme of what it means to be human when there are no humans around, and 9S's tiny shorts, and you've got yourself a masterpiece.

So, I reviewed this game after playing the new Blackwood map because it seemed playable finally- smaller map, no need to host more than one server just to play a game with a few friends, etc., except the map doesn't work right. the GPS is inaccurate because it's just one "grid", sometimes boats don't show up on the map even though you're standing on them, and the most breaking of all- beds just plain don't work. they don't show up on the map, they don't allow you to fast travel between them, and you can't respawn at one if you die. if your only option is to respawn at a starting area somewhere and your boat is miles out to sea, it kind of makes things unplayable after the first few hours.
All in all, it seems like the update and the sale price of just under 10 dollars is just a quick cash grab from the devs.

this game is basically just an interactive screensaver, but it is also a good game to boot up and let run in the background before starting another game, so steam will say you're playing this instead of whatever game you don't want your friends to see you playing.

I'm leaving this as a negative review for now, because at the moment the game feels like it's not worth buying. in the half hour I spent playing the game on easy mode, I had tools break too often to focus on gathering resources for anything besides replacing the tools I was using to gather resources. perhaps I could accomplish more with more people to work with, but playing it solo, every aspect of the game just ended up feeling tedious.
it has potential, and I will continue to follow the development of the game as it progresses in the hopes of buying it again at a later date, but for now it is definitely not worth the $16 I spent with the 20% off coupon I recieved, let alone the $20 price tag posted on the page.

This game is fun, and has a lot of potential, but a lot of things could use some work. The game wouldn't run more than about 15 fps for me, but before getting the game to work at all, I had to completely uninstall AVG from my computer. I enjoy the game well enough to keep it around and hope this will be fixed, but until it is, I wouldn't recommend purchasing it.

This worked fine in early access. The game's officially out now, and somehow, they broke it for the official release. Their "low quality shaders" option just turns everything a bright purple and makes the game unplayable, the game freezes for me after every match and I have to alt tab and force quit.

Worst of all, though, is the new music they added. They didn't even bother taking the old music out, if you're close to the radio it just plays both songs at once.
