This is where it all started. Countless of rage quits, countless of hours on the Prepare to Die edition Dark Souls that I played on PS3.. classic. I didnt knew what world it will bring, what kind of inspiration and art I will explore. You love it or hate it.. that combination of melancholy and medieval world. You will get no hope, even the game wants you to lose over and over again.. but you still going. Theres a need to improve yourself, explore for better loot and Im not gonna start with the lore ..breathtaking. Game will not serve you anything on the plate, but thats where the magic starts. This game changed my life, my mindset and its really a once in a life experience. Graphics and mechanics are not that good, keep in mind this game already has some years and its not new, but it will prepare you the best.

Should I recommend it to someone, who never played souls like game? YES ABSOLUTELY.. but be ready to die a lot. Its part of the game. After a few hours grinding, its easy as hell, but still Dark Souls.
I have over 1000+ hours on the PS3 version, I just bought this on steam, just to complete the achievements.

After few hours of playing, I can finally say my honest opinion.
This game is one of a kind.

Open-world in this game is massive and not empty. You can choose to go anywhere and you will not get bored. It can be overwhelming.. just don’t rush and enjoy your time!

Combat system is near to perfect, I would only change better parry. Sometimes Im getting attacked and can’t do anything, so I have to wait for them to stop. I don’t know if it’s on purpose or not, but it can be kinda annoying. (Dark Souls master here, so I know hahah). Learning the mechanics etc. is easy. If you keep improving your gear, there’s no way you will struggle. Difficulty is very easy, dont be scared.

Controls are hard to learn at the start, but devs. did a really good job. 1-2 hours and you will forget, that you had some struggle with it. I can play with controller and do everything I need without touching my keyboard/mouse. Even before the patch, It was very good. Can’t tell what the gameplay is on keyboard/mouse.

Story is amazing imo. There’s no skip button for cutscenes , only thing you can do, is to make it 2x faster. Great thing I would say. It really drags you into the story and you will save some time. Kliff is great as a main character and other NPC’s have “soul”, so it’s not boring to watch and you will get a lot of sympathy.

Graphics are beautiful and the game is very great optimized. For my mid specs., I can enjoy the game with beautiful graphics and 60+ fps. Very good job for this one.

Devs. are watching the reviews and I believe, that they will make this game truly perfect. Ofc. it’s not for everyone, but a lot of people are affected by “game journalists” reviews… So!
As a player, don't listen to the reviews. This game is worth it to try it.
For 70€, you will get so much hours of fun.
