Early Access Review
Unfortunately I can't recommend the game in it's current state. Mechanically, the game is great. Visually, the aesthetics are decent. The leveling system is good and enjoyable, and the health/medicine system is fun and innovative. But my my god, this game has zero respect for your time. The only way to save the game is to rent a bed a the tavern. There's no save on exit feature, meaning your runs have to be completed in one sitting, which will take hours. I only have two or so hours in the game, but I'm hesitant to put it more because it's just not that fun anymore. The lack of a save on exit feature, or at least another way to save the game, wouldn't be so much of a problem if the game was more faced-paced. This isn't an insult to the pace of the game at all - I enjoy the slow, tactical pace of the game. But slow & methodical pace + brutal difficulty is not a great recipe when you can only save at the tavern. Also good luck finding the first dungeon. The in-game map doesn't indicate where your character is, so I wandered through the forest and got wrecked by some bandits and wolves. I tried to go back to town but didn't make it. Also character creation hasn't been implemented - boooo.
I will probably try a few more runs, but I can't see myself sinking much more time into it.

Got this game as part of a Humble Bundle montly, so I didn't directly purchase this game. Mechanically the game isn't so bad. I played the tutorial and it was fine, the narrator was super annoying. The first level in the story, however- there's so many cut scenes and the dialogue is extremely cringeworthy, I justed wanted to get to the above-average gameplay but the narror just went on and on with bad writing and old jokes. I understand some story is needed, but the narrator just needs to shut up and let you play the damn game. Also, the 'avoiding the lights as the evil spirit' was too long, too boring, and wasn't fun. I really don't have much a desire to visit the second level of the story, or play the rest of the game. Can't really recommend it.
