Jokes aside, the graphics are phenomenal compared to previous msfs releases. If I was a serious sim flyer or real world pilot that knew what they were looking at in the cockpit, I would probably love this. Sadly, I am not and so the only kick I got out of this was taking off from my local airport, flying directly over my house and landing a 747 in my street. It was underwhelming to say the least.

Obviously the game can't show real world 3D data for every object on Earth, so for everythign besides major city landmarks, it's just projecting satellite imagery over a 2D texture on the ground. Looks great from afar, but up close it's about as terrible as you would expect.

Excellent flight sim though.

10/10 would get dogged at extract for my free loadout by random stranger that teamed up with me again.

Literally Sim City but better in some ways and worse in some ways. Overall better though. Only thing I hate is the mass DLC cash grab but can you blame them, it has to be one of the worlds easiest money generators for minimal effort.

Played hundreds of hours on my first Origin account when the game first released. Proceeded to then get my account hacked and lose everything. Contacted EA multiple times and they could not verify me as the account owner despite providing 37 articles of irrefutable proof. I was very salty. The game went on sale for 95% off the other day on Steam of all places and so I bought it again for $5. Made new Origin account because I was forced to. I love the game but the fact it released through EA makes me never want to touch it again. Can Gaben please just buy out EA and delete it from existence already. Worst games company in the history of mankind. Ghost made a great game though!

I had SE before it was on Steam when it was a free download on their site and even back then I was blown away when I tried it out. It's hands down the best universe simulator ever made. Absolutely no contest there. Since coming onto Steam they've made a number of improvements and I still hold it up as the gold standard for space simulation. I've never seen it done better anywhere else and on such a huge scale.

However, understand SE is a simulator, it's not a game in the typical sense of the word. If you're buying it thinking it's Elite Dangerous or Star Citizen, you'll be sorely disappointed since as far as I'm aware there are no game mechanics in place.

In terms of a simulator though, fly through a randomly generated galaxy at the speed of light and I can guarantee your mind will be certifiably blown assuming your PC can handle the visuals that is.

I never gave into the hype and I'm glad I didn't. As someone who wasn't even following the game closely at all and with no ridiculously high expectations, it's great fun to play. The character customisation is cool but I didn't pay too much attention to it, I just wanted to jump into the action. So far in my 3 hours of playtime it's been an absolute blast! Graphics are amazing, gameplay is solid and story/character development seems decent so far.

All that aside though...

Everyone else is complaining about how buggy the game is, well I'm on an old 4th gen i7 and 1080 OC'd running 60fps ultra settings and everything's working fine. Haven't even crashed once yet, so idk why everyone else is having such a terrible time with it, and my rig is by no means a beast. My guess is kids with a s h i t t y pre-built they got for Christmas, decked out with the trash mobo, no-name psu and both sticks of ram in single channel who can't figure out why their PC is running like garbage and want to blame the devs for it.

Anyway, an easy thumbs up from me!

I honestly didn't get what the big fuss with this game was all about. It kinda just got popular outta nowhere and soon every man and his dog was streaming it. If you have no friends and play pub lobbies the game is utter garbage. Only worth playing with a group of friends in an organised lobby with voice chat. Even then how many times can you run around the same tiny little maps over and over again? 30 mins and I was bored to death. Just not my kind of game I guess.

Electronic Arts is the worst company to ever exist on this planet. That much is certain. Did Respawn make a great game despite of that though?

It's like powder toy got turned into an actual game.

The sheer a55holery that can and does go on in this game makes it both incredibly addictive and equally infuriating. Nothing will make you lose faith in humanity more than being grabbed and shoved off a ledge by an extra sweaty jellybean.

In my 10 hours so far I am yet to actually win a whole show. Best I've gotten is second place. Maybe that's just bad luck or I'm just trash but I'll tell ya what, it's reaaaaally annoying.
