Borderlands 4 is a good game.

The last two Borderlands games that I played were Wonderlands and Borderlands 2—Borderlands 4 lands somewhere between the two, and I'm inclined to call it much closer to 2 than the mess than was Wonderlands. It feels like a more modern, more polished version of the game that I love with less of the over-the-top antics that bog down the spin-off.

The playable characters feel unique and I enjoy what each of their personalities bring to the story, though I do feel a bit underwhelmed by the main antagonist in this game compared to some of the older installments. Perhaps when all of the story is released I will feel differently.

I've played this primarily in co-op with a friend, so I can't really speak to the solo experience as I've barely spent any time playing this alone. If you're on the fence, this series has always been bundled with all of the DLC and discounted heavily after being out for a bit, so I'd say focus on your backlog of games and jump in once this has had some time to marinate. There are still people playing the older games to this day, so I'm sure even if you wait to jump in you won't feel like you missed out on playing it at its height like you can with other games.

I ended up purchasing Sword & Soldiers because it was on sale during the holidays and the deal was too good to pass up. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how much fun Swords & Soldiers actually is. It's a sidescrolling RTS where you build units from one of three different factions (Vikings, Aztecs or the Chinese) and utilize spells to defeat your opponent.

The storymode is short, but very silly and fun and the multiplayer is pretty good! I enjoy this game quite a bit and recommend it to anyone looking for a little game to have some fun with.
