I've had an only positive experience with the DLC. While many people complain about bugs, I have not experienced any major bugs that caused any problems. Definitely worth the money. New maps are awesome, new survivors are fun (but a little underpowered) and the new boss is pretty cool.

To truely understand XCOM 2, I will tell a story.
There was once a rookie named Daniel Palmer.
