700 hours in and i only bought the base game. Very decent support from the devs. Just recently, they made their 2019 dlc free for everyone (man the guns). I started playing this game just a couple of months before it came out.

this game has a very bad fps issue, so i suggest skipping this version and get the remastered edition.

I enjoyed it. Played it back before the remaster. I was so mesmerized by it, that i played it despite the horrible UI. Now that the remaster exists, there is no reason to play this.

I am not kidding, don't play this. This is like a flash game. It runs in a 360x640 window, and there is no other resolution.

If you do get it, remember that there are 2 interact buttons in this game (look at and use i think). Use is enough for most interaction, but there is 1 moment that requires the other interaction. I think in the remaster they combined it into 1 button, but it's so confusing feeling stuck like this. Very bad design decision.

I was very surprised by this. Very touching story. Generally daedalic makes super hard point and clicks, and generally they are usually comedies. This one is more of a fantasy adventure, and a very good one.

Also, here is a personal note. I love the process of a point and click. The longer i am stuck, the more i love it. Wasnt always like this though. I remember when i was just starting out with deponia in 2014, i was feeling super frustrated. But eventually i got used to the thought process. Highly recommend, dark eye, deponia, and edna and harvey.

On other hand, one of their more recent ones - pillars of the earth (2017), is more of a historical drama adventure. Very little in terms of puzzles, just a straight forward walking sim. Decent story, but as you see, it's a dying genre.

Hard pass. I like puzzles and like daedalic point and click, but this wasn't it. It's not super long (i think 2-3 hours), but i had to replay it multiple times for achievements. Not very challenging either, and not very interesting. Easy achievements though.

I dont think many people noticed, but there is 1 key difference between this and the original.

Laser sight aiming is horrible in this version.

In the original, once you get the laser sight, you could hip fire throughout the whole game without ever aiming down. You could go strength, and hip fire without any recoil too. Personally this is the way i liked to play crysis. I play it like a 90s shooter, without any ads (aim down sights) and i like it that way. Offers a wider range of motion, faster reaction, allows you to strafe, etc.

I think this is a console port. They even adapted the control scheme from crysis 2 and 3 (q and e for armor and stealth). Thankfully you can turn it off, but it's clear that not all features survived in the remastered.

Here is my video to show you how fun crysis can be. This is the original btw, although heavily encoded.

I recommend the original over redux. Why?

In this game you get 4 rifles over your playthrough. Your starting rifle, then the AK, the iconic VSV rifle (from stalker) and the AK-12 rifle. Each one is an improvement over the previous one.

In redux, they just killed AK-12. It's a pellet gun now, and barely deals any damage. It's supposed to be your final upgrade, and because there is no more shop at that stage, you gonna have at least 500-1000 military grade bullets for it. It's used to be an epic gun. A proper weapon for the final chapter. Just get the origina, whichever means possible, and experience this game the right away.

Also, i prefer the original voice actor over redux.

Great game, very relaxing. Optimization's not very good unfortunately.

Also most maps are awful. Some are just too short. Others too dark, to the point where you can't see nothing. My most favorite maps were the ones with vibrant colors.

Also most maps are super basic (clear trash, bodies, blood and bullet holes), and don't have any extra mechanics. While others have things like zero g to clean ceilings, refilling machine gun ammo, brooming up crystal dust, cleaning graffiti. Any extra task to do besides the basics is always nice.
