Reminds me a lot of classic C&C, but with modern quality of life improvements to it.

Overall I liked this game, until the boss fight at the end of Act II. I can just imagine the design meeting for that one.
"You know what people love? One hit kill mechanics!"
"Okay, but what if we make the player character have hallucinations where visibility is limited and they can't see the enemy coming?"
"Oh yeah. Great idea. This is award winning game design."

So yeah, one poorly designed boss fight ruined an otherwise pretty good game for me. I actually like the main character in this one, versus Dudebro, and his sidekick, Brodude in the previous games.

Who'd have thought tearing apart spaceships would be so fun?

Maybe sci-fi horror games aren't my genre, but that doesn't seem like an explanation for the awful controls, the uninteresting puzzles and the nonsense story. I'm not sure what the game was trying to do, but whatever it was, it seems to have failed at it.

I'm glad I didn't pay full price for this game. Despite being almost a decade old, it's still full of bugs. The characters are boring, and the game feels like it was more interested in looking good than actually being good. It's a mediocre shooter at best, and should probably be avoided for something that actually plays well.

Early Access Review
Excellent early access game, but it'd definitely still an early access game. It feels like an evolution to Factorio, which definitely feels like it's missing certain features newer games have. This game is definitely missing features, but everything major missing is on the roadmap.

Pros:
It feels much better to build things, especially conveyor belts, compared to Factorio, which comes off feeling much older than it actually is. I can deconstruct or upgrade an entire belt easily. (Yes, I am aware that mods can help with this.)

I also like the logistic tower concept much better than building a main bus. Want to add a new production line? Just plop down a tower or two, fill it with drones and you're set. No needing to snake belts across the map, or fiddle with train timing. Just go do it.

Cons:
Saves get huge if you start building Dyson Spheres. I tried building a huge sphere around a very luminous star, and by time I finished, my save side had ballooned from 800MB to 44GB and was bringing the game to a halt while doing any sort of saving. This was the reason I stopped playing, not because I wanted to but because I just couldn't continue.

No really a con, but blueprints and copy+paste aren't in the game. They're planned, so this isn't really a con.

Mediocre, buggy and with awful writing. The various forced story events really made the game worse, completely breaking some missions. And the ending. Just... What was that supposed to be?

On the positive side, the bird songs were pretty accurate.

Early Access Review
One of the most polished games I played in early access is still a great game when it's out of early access. Still enjoying it, several hundred hours in. Excellent factory builder.

If you like building machines that make things and tower defense games, this is a great choice. I wish it had an infinite map, but other than that, it's a great game.

One of my favourite games of all time. It's very strong on the base-building side of RTSs, so if you find yourself building bases more than sending units after the enemy, this is a great game for you.
