Purchased Orcs Must Die#3 on super sale (80% off) and loved playing it with my 9yo son. Finished the campaign and both DLC so decided to give Deathtrap a try.
I'll mainly refute the major claims which gave me pause before purchasing:
1- Barricade limitations. I have had no issues funneling all mobs to a single route (except on 2-rift levels obviously). You start with a number of free barricades every level and can place stronger ones for coins which buff nearby traps.
2- Traps aren't enough, warmages need to fight. This is true, but I also felt this was true in #3 as I had to kite the enemies around until defenses were strong enough, or use the freezing trinkets to hold the big boys in place for archers to wail on.
3- Multiplayer disconnects during runs. I have only had one disconnect in 35 hours of multiplayer and it was regional internet outage on my end.

I've purchased 3 copies of this game to play with my brother and kiddos. I don't regret it at all. Yes the mechanics differ somewhat in how it was implemented for a fresh take but, in my opinion, at it's core the game remains the same: Orcs Must Die.

Imagine what you could do in your life with 6000 7000 hours.

A rewarding and engaging experience; I couldn't put it down.
This is the first single-player game I've enjoyed through to the finish in a long time.
