If you can ignore all of the negativity surrounding this game, this is a great game to pick up when it goes on sale. $70 seems a bit steep for this kind of game (or most games for that matter.)
-------------------------------------
I believe majority of the negative reviews are people that either 1. did not read recommended specs or 2. have an issue with panties being censored. There are some changes to certain words (vampires to revenants; madness to bigotry.) I haven't encountered anything that seemed off translation/localization wise, so I can't speak much on that yet. Additionally, since I know someone will complain, the choices for body types are just silhouettes NOT body type 1 / 2. Just pick the one with no boobs or with boobs.

As for the gameplay so far, I own a 5060 TI and the game runs great for me. I did adjust settings a tiny bit so it rendered faster, but all of my settings are high / highest. In my opinion, the game looks far better than first Code Vein (which I adored.) I can see myself sinking a lot of time into it. There are plenty of beautiful characters, but I did notice that the enemies look fairly similar to the first game. They aren't particularly difficult to beat though it is only the first area. I've spent about 2 hours in it exploring, came across my first map boss, and got myself wrecked. I'm very curious about how the main story bosses will turn out.

I am very disappointed to see that there is no co-op...the first Code Vein didn't have strong co-op anyhow so I could see why they wanted to avoid it this time around. I'm hoping that they can combine the best of both worlds if there is ever another game.

Only four hours in and I am loving the game already! The story is really good minus a few annoying characters, but that is to be expected~! I genuinely am looking forward to hopping back into it whenever I have free time. It's one of those that just sticks in your mind and you need to keep coming back to figure out what is going to happen next.

I was extremely excited for this game (I even bought the ultimate edition!!), but I am honestly very disappointed in the visuals, so I am just going to refund the game until there are some kind of improvements. While I didn't notice any major stuttering like I did in the demo, the perpetual motion blur is still there even after trying every setting under the sun it felt like (yes, I turned off motion blur.) It ended up just making me motion sick. It was disheartening to say the least as I am able to play other JRPGs and open world games easily. I watched my bf play it on his pc (4070 gpu) and even his looked pretty blurry at max settings.

For reference, I have a 5600X and 2060 gpu (which is recommended in the steam listing.) I play most of my Atelier games on switch, so I'm used to sub par graphics. It's not the best of the best, but going from any other modern Atelier game to this is....well, shocking. If someone told me I was playing the switch release instead of the pc release, I'd believe them.

This all being said, I still really want to enjoy the game and give it a chance because it has so much potential.

This game is everything I wanted in a horror yandere simulator. The story consistently progresses and doesn't feel like it drags on for too long like some other games I've tried. I've completed one route; I cannot wait to try out the other routes.

I've been looking for more cute games to put on my steam deck and let me just say: this game has been so much fun already! The cute characters and vibrant colors keep me coming back to play a few levels at a time. There are levels that are very challenging, but implementing save points has really *saved* me. The music and sound effects are lighthearted so they aren't distracting to the gameplay or make you feel like you are going to rip off your ears from hearing the music for so long~!

I like this game, but looking at other reviews, there appear to be some misconceptions/misinformation.

- First off, if you bought DLC, you DO have it. You will NOT be able to access some of it until LATER on in the game (which makes sense because some of it is higher level than what you start as.) You do not need to buy DLC to enjoy this game. If day one DLC upsets you, don't buy it. I also want to point out that you can get the game cheaper on sites like Fanatical if the price is putting you off from it.
- Under settings, you can turn on the unlimited XP and gold items after each fight if you have that. I had the option to do this pretty early on. The game doesn't tell you this.
- I do not have my Steam Deck yet, but some people are posting about issues with it. I don't see where this game says it is Steam Deck verified, so play at your own risk.

Now, onto the actual game review. It's pretty good from what I have played. There are two types of "dungeons" in this game. One is what you do in the real world; the other is what you do inside of each character's souls. In the latter one, they all share the same dungeon with the only variation being how the map is laid out. I wish each character had dungeons that were unique to them that way it didn't feel dull doing requests/other activities inside of them. That's really my only complaint so far.

I saw Markiplier play the second game a few days ago and realized I had both the second and this one in my library, so I decided to give them a go.

If possible, go into the game blind and fully immerse yourself in the story. Be patient and keep track of the clues you find. I only got one ending and I likely will not go for the other endings as they seem to be pretty straightforward after you get one of them. That being said, I found myself enjoying how things were being tied together. I can't wait to try out the second game now!

This is a short, relatively simple puzzle game that changes/adds to the mechanics every few levels. I found it to be relaxing and beat all basic levels in a little under 2 hours on normal mode. For $3, it is a steal~!

I am loving this visual novel so far! Nothing is too obvious, so it keeps me on my toes as to what is coming next.

If anyone is curious, there are four chapters total--not including the prologue. Each chapter is called an "Act" and from what I have played, they seem to be a good length (not too short, not too drawn out.) For example, I have played for a few hours now and so far there have only been two choices. (I have not beat ACT 1 yet.) There are also plenty of save slots--16 to be exact which saves a lot of time if you are wanting to get each ending. There are four endings total. Overall, for $18, this game is worth checking out.

Side Note: This game has nothing to do with Corpse Party but in the prologue there is a character named Sachiko which I thought was a nice nod to the game whether the creators meant to or not.
