When I first heard about Town of Salem 2, I was skeptical especially after Traitors in Salem. I was hesitant to play it, not wanting my experience with Town of Salem to be diminished in any way because I love the game.

I took the chance and bought the game, deciding to experience what everyone was talking about and I'm glad I did. While there is a learning curve regardless of how long you've played the original game, the new roles take a little bit of time getting use to and understanding their quirks.

For anyone who is still on the fence about getting this game, please do yourself a favor and get it. It's a great update to the original game. You will not be disappointed.

The game has had a change in ownership and is now owned by Digital Banditos. Maybe they can fix the stuff and keep the battlepass out of the game.

I've been a huge fan of Town of Salem, the original game, logging over 4,900 hours in that game and was so excited for this game to release when it came out. After buying the game, the only thing I've managed to do was play the tutorial. After that, I have never been able to get into any lobby with any other players except for one time I was able to find one other player trying to play the game.

This game is dead and I really wish I could get my money back for the game and the few skins I bought when I first got the game. Especially since the game is now free (Despite it being free, there's still no one playing). If the game could get a bigger player base and become active, the game does have potential, but unless the team does a lot of marketing for the game, there's no reason to get this game. It's just a wasted slot on my library and a constant reminder of the regrets I have buying the game. Such a promising game that is just a big disappointment.

While Town of Salem is a simple game, it's surprisingly addicting as evident by the amount of time that I've already put into this game. Despite the ease of the game, it's still heart pounding and exciting to see if you're going to be hanged or if your target is going to be killed at night. The thrill of escaping death when someone attacks you and you have a well timed guard helps keep me going back to this game. Even though the game is available for free via the web browser, I still bought this game and don't regret doing it for a second. This will continue to be a favorite game of mine for a long time coming.

Edit: 1,765.8 hours in and this game still continues to be one of my favorite games I own. With the addition of the Coven expansion, plenty of more hours put into this game. New updates are still being added. Can't wait for another expansion with more roles.

Edit 2: 4,769.7 hours in now and still going strong. No new expansions, but still some updates. Got some new skins in the shop, but no new roles. Still over here hoping for another expansion at some point.

Not bad for a freebie.
