coming back to this game in 2025, it's underrated. FO4 is better than NV in many ways, worse in some. don't let weirdos on reddit tell you otherwise.

great writing (puts Starfield to shame), beautiful, and now pretty fun after the multiple gameplay overhauls. the vibe needs to be experienced to be understood, but if you like it, you'll REALLY like it.

Shooting mechanics feel great, writing is good (albeit intentionally goofy), and the game runs unbelievably well (you can push 240FPS on a 4090 at 4k w/ max settings). The story ends pretty abruptly, unfortunately, but this is a solid singeplayer experience.

8/10. i enjoyed the journey thoroughly.

ahead of its time, still plays well to this day, especially with RTX HDR.

if you're looking for a more modernized take on this classic, check out Mirror's Edge Catalyst.

unlimited worlds to explore, not a single reason to play: this game simply isn't fun. i've tried and tried again for 50+ hours across 2 platforms.

if you enjoy the niche this game is trying to fill, please continue enjoying.

an underrated comfy/immersive RPG from Bethesda. the writing is pretty juvenile at times, but overall, the atmosphere more than makes up for it.

if you played this game without any expectations of what you were told the game would be, you would likely enjoy it. i think that's the primary hang-up for people, whether they realize it or not.

interestingly enough, Bethesda's ancient engine in Starfield is one of the crispest i've seen from AAA games. DLAA + HDR is a visual treat. some of the sharpest/highest fidelity visuals I've seen in 2023. you can easily get 90-100+ FPS at 4k max settings with a 4090.

hand-tailored, rasterized lighting worked well for this game to save performance headroom for other beautiful/demanding graphical features.

Gears 5 has the best dev-implemented HDR on a PC game i've seen yet. 4k native actually looks crisp (not blurry) without any additional upscaling, which is rare for a modern AAA game nowadays.

the campaign is fun/interesting. very fun to coop with a friend

Death Stranding is very divisive, and with good reason. you'll either love what the game is going for or long for more traditional game mechanics. i'm in that first party. i believe this game is a creative masterpiece.

yes, the story is incohesive and nonsensical at times. yes, the gameplay loop is kind of broken/unchallenging. but there is this undeniable charm to the game that i just really like. give it an honest shot -- you might REALLY like it.
