Really not worth the massive price hike when the gameplay has become so massively stale and limited to extremely difficult, and often game-breaking, repetitive RNG-Looting.

"1.0" and Zombie animations still bug out; they'll take a shot, and after a few seconds, their animation finally updates and they do a sudden back-flip-fall-thing. That or suddenly duck down and smack your ankles from a meter away just because they can. New "varients" are just retextures and they still use the same free-stock Zombie sounds you can hear in other media such as Dead Rising. Sometimes your own gunshots don't even register because the hitboxes are so jank.

Character customization is SEVERELY limited now down to just armor types- no more fun mix-and-match clothing and the heat/cold system is gone (it was a joke of a game mechanic anyways)- which, btw, they are a pain in the @$$ to upgrade and range from "kinda useful in combat" to "stick this in a box and hope you remember to wear it briefly when you mine/farm/salvage something".

Animal animations don't match their run speed and look goofy as all hell, but they do look nice at least I guess?

Trader missions are still the same bland thing. Go to this POI, grab a bag and/or clear some zombies. Maybe go dig up some dirt for 5 in game hours all for a box with 3 useless items in it. Only now you get less money and less fun rewards.

The skill tree system is as atrocious as ever and painful to level anything useful or fun up. No room to experiment with and some are just downright useless (*cough* pack mule and *cough* need cooking/workbench skills to not be stuck waiting literal irl hours for things to cook/craft). By the time you get there, if you haven't lucked out and found/crafted good weapons/ammo and maxed out those combat skills, the game decides you're ready for radiated zombies who eat non-AP ammo and headshots for breakfast and throws those in droves at you. Melee becomes completely obsolete by then, so hope you like shooting between 3-4 types of guns on your hotbar because the one you leveled up for doesn't do the entire job without a risky reload while you're being pummeled to death.

Finished reading a certain magazine skill tree? You'll still find them everywhere, tanking your chances of finding the ones you still need, and only sell for a penny-maybe a nickle on a good day. Need that workbench so you can ACTUALLY begin crafting things in the CRAFTING survival game? Too bad. You're missing 2 more magazines and you put a point into the knife-guy perk so those mags are all you're going to find now. Trader won't sell it either. Good luck with horde night!

Also the same 4 items control 99% of what you craft so you better hope you have plenty or you won't be able to make anything significant.

The fact this game's development went downhill so fast and the way they think this 1.0 is the hot sh!t and worth 40$ is laughable, if not entirely depressing.

No end game goals. Missions are boring. An absolute slog to crawl through for late game. Character customization limited drastically; you get to play as Prefab Model 1-4. Gameplay mechanics hardly exist beyond "hit E, then R, on a box" and "shoot". Building a horde-night base only comes with a few meager traps you can make, nothing new. Building is still boring, no new paint textures, the same 4 carpets and wallpapers and wood textures are all you get to make a place your own.

At best, with this flashy "1.0" release, you'll have fun for a good ~20 hours before you figure the game out and lose interest entirely. All it is is some new art assets and in-game Sound effects. That's it. That's all you're paying the extra $$ for.

Don't bother buying it. Not unless you plan to use mods to actually make this "game" a *game*.

Would be a fun game if the enemies weren't glued to you 24/7 and patrolled any area you were in. Wound up hiding more than exploring and getting nothing done and finally just accepted death because what can you do when you can't explore anywhere and have to hide for 30 min at a time before an enemy leaves 5 steps from your room. Not worth 18$, maybe 10$, but I feel kind of ripped off.
