The puzzles are a bit straightforward but I like this a lot aesthetically. It has a very good spooky feel.

A delightfully weird precision platformer with a light dusting of horror and, surprisingly, humor. I didn't enjoy every bit of it, but the platforming was very solid. It has some of the most interesting choices for a game of its genre I've ever seen.

As someone who played a lot of precision platformers as a kid (Knytt, Jumper, N+, etc.), and continues to whenever a really cool one is released, this is a very nostalgic callback to games like that for me. The sound design is great, level design is really fun so far, and the addition of horror is very fresh for the genre. This is a true solid capital P Platformer. Will definitely be checking this out as soon as it's released.

Neat to see someone trying King's FIeld style controls again, albeit with the interesting addition of a movable hand. Definitely mechanics that are worth exploring, especially in a horror game where control is something to be rationed. Very much looking forward to the full game.

The reviews that say this game is worse off for being randomized/making you start over each day are a bit silly in my opinion. I just don't think the game is for them, and if this game is for you, it will be FOR YOU. I love when a game makes me feel like I'm discovering something, like in Outer Wilds and Return of the Obra Dinn, and this game is full of that sort of thing. Also it has a great artstyle, and along with the perfectly fitting music and overall tone of the narrative, this game really feels like something special.

No developers recorded in the history of video games have dared to ask the question "What if an legged apple was bouncy like a dodgeball and had a great journey ahead of him" before this game. I think that was a mistake which has now been rectified to a beautiful extent.
