This is a great game and one of the few games launched in Early Access that delivers a complete experience. I enjoyed all aspects of this game from music to visuals to gameplay Any con I could give for the game could be remedied and you can see how far things have come to improve already pre-launch.

A lot of negative reviews complain about elements of the game (resource grind, being able to teleport with certain items) that are completely adjustable. The default settings seem to make more sense for a PVP server, but for a solo playthrough bumping the resource rates slightly and enabling "Teleport With Bound Items" worked out for me.

There are cons with this system:
- Defaults aren't tuned to solo play without do-able but lengthy grind. I couldn't find suggestions in game other than the selection of predefined rulesets which offer "easy" and "hard" with the default being "Standard PVE" with the help text "Designed to be a balanced experience for playing with others"
- Even for offline, solo it's not currently(!) possible to change settings _from the UI_ yet. This can still be done via some config file editing though.
- How would a first time player know what to bump settings to anyway? This is a common problem in games that offer difficulty selection before even playing, but with the amount of settings on offer here it's definitely overwhelming.

Personally, I just set Resource gathering and Item drop rates to 1.5x and left everything else. For the first few hours I felt like I might have overdone it and made the game too easy, but it definitely smoothed out the mid and late game sections to feel just right for me. It just doesn't feel good to feel like these sliders were "difficulty" sliders when in reality many of them are default tuned (eg. 1x rates) to playing with other people.

I don't blame people for not adjusting these settings and having a more tedious experience, I didn't either for the first hour or so of playing, but take negative reviews citing these heavily customizable aspects of the game with a grain of salt as there is a great experience here. I fully expect the game to ship with a more obvious "Solo only" set of defaults as I'm sure this is both a common way to play this game and common feedback from players.

Dislike: 3 hrs. Better experience than buying a movie ticket though.
