Completely overwrought encounter design and eye-watering levels of grind deal crippling blows to an otherwise fun, arcadey take on Monster Hunter. Interesting character designs and combat mechanics are squandered on fights that juggle the player across massive arenas, require the player to chase the boss across the same, or otherwise leave little to no opening to actually play the game.

There's good bones here, but it gets in its own way too much to be anything but frustrating. As the amount of grind required for progression begins to scale into the hundreds of hours toward endgame, I can confidently say this just isn't worth it.
